I didn't ask how many good games they had. I asked which run of four games. Fletch in spells did very well I agree. Mig did very well all season for me bar the odd **** up which you expect from keepers nowadays. Rose I'll agree as well as he was class most of the season. O'Shea was decent last season but had a lot of poor games to go with his good ones. In my eyes that's three players who managed to string together a run of games. At the big clubs it's the same. People drift in and out of games and in and out of teams. Adam Johnson has always been a player who changes games by scoring goals and getting assists by having a cracking two minute spell in a match, if we expected a player who was going to play brilliantly for ninety minutes every game we were foolish indeed. Michael Owen never had a good ninety minutes in his career but he was a fantastic footballer. No team ever has every player playing brilliantly. Different combinations of players will carry teams through matches and even spells of matches. Johnson is a decent premier league player.
I didn't say he'd do it in a row. If you're going to get ****y... Name me the thirty to thirty-five games that Danny Rose played in!
Ok then. Name me 3-4 games in a row, even 2 or 3 where Johnson has had 2 game changing minutes? Johnson had about 7-8 good games last year in 38 games. That don't make him a terrible player, just not a good premier league player. But he isn't worth 12 million, about 5 million.
I said he wasn't consistent, he has a good game 1 in 7-8 which makes him a very average player. Quality players have spells of consistently good games, I.e mig (gone to Liverpool) JOS (at united for years) rose (Tottenham wouldn't dream of selling him) fletcher (proven goalscorer) Them players are quality because they are consistent and don't have a good game now and again like Johnson. I don't say this to be offensive, but have you played played the game at any kind of decent level, like I said not being offensive.
Bringing players back rarely works out ! In this case YES! Turning into a proper footballer is Hendo, nee chance the dippers would let it happen.
I had trials but no I find between being a billionaire playboy during the day and fighting crime on the streets of Gotham at night too time consuming.
Lol ok that explains why you think Johnson is a decent premier league player. I hope to God he proves me wrong though. Because I fear we have wasted an awful lot of money on the guy.
We couldn't replace him for £5m and he certainly isn't a league 1 player. He's a decent, if not spectacular premier league player. Johnson's biggest fault is not being able to live up to the hype that other people showered him with when he was a bit younger.
I think if we were to offer Johnson out for 5 million, pretty much every team outside the top 6 would be more than happy to meet it. He's worth a lot more than that. His monetary value aside, we simple couldn't afford to lose his talent from the squad.
totally agree with you, but i do think he is going to prove his worth now with pdc driving him along , a renewed appetite is what i think will show now , and who knows a recall may be in line
