He might play out wide if Brady is played up front on Saturday, Dudgeon is also another option ---------McGregor---------- --Rosie-Chester-Davies-Fig-- -Elmo-Thudd-Livermore-Boyd- -------Aluko---Brady--------
Harsh on Koren, that. How about... ---------McGregor---------- --Rosie---Chester---Davies---Fig-- ----Livermore--Thudd--Koren-- --Elmo---------Aluko---------Brady-- Perhaps not the best use of Aluko - but arguably the best use of the best players available.
McGregor Elmo Chester Davies Fig Livermore Huddlestone Aluko Koren Brady Graham 4231, 451, 433, 4411, I think throughout the game our shape changes depending on how the game is going. But I would be surprised if that wasn't the 11.
He's with us on a season loan. I think someone posted the Spuds can't recall him in January (I might be mistaken on that?).
Did anyone see the game last night? What was it about NP's performance that made Brucie single him out, and what was it about Fryatt's performance that he seems to have been given the benefit of the doubt?
The fact he has hardly played for a year and that he didn't cost as much as Prozzy and because he has performed for us when he has been fit.
He didn't. I've seen Bruce commenting on Fryatt's performance somewhere as well (HDM article?) saying that he was poor as well, but that he still doesn't think he's seen the real Fryatt since he arrived because coming back from the injury will take him time to be sharp.
Spot on. That's my choice too. Dudgeon as back up for Boyd...although both played the full game against Orient.
Unless he's injured Koren will play. Wonder if we might go 4-2-3-1: ------------McGregor Elmo--Chester--Davies--Figueroa ----Livermore---Huddlestone Koren-------Aluko------Brady ----------Graham or 4-4-1-1: -----------------McGregor Elmo----Chester----Davies----Figueroa Koren--Livermore---Huddlestone--Brady ------------------Aluko ----------------Graham or 4-5-1: ------------------------McGregor ---------Elmo----Chester----Davies----Figueroa Koren--Livermore---Huddlestone--Quinn/Boyd--Brady --------------------------Aluko or 4-5-1: ------------------------McGregor ---------Elmo----Chester----Davies----Figueroa Koren--Livermore---Aluko---Huddlestone---Brady ---------------------Graham
Pretty certain Graham will feature and this line-up makes sense as Koren did okay last time out. I think the stats and total lack of attacking nous (less Brady!) speaks for itself - SB is trying to be fair with Fryatt and looking for a full-fitness display - he's obviously not getting it in training, but giving him a Cup game to stretch him. If we go 2 down against ManC don't be surprised to see Fryatt coming on to get a feel of the level the club expectations have for him. Against ManC a win or a draw is a bloody great result, a loss is not so bad as long as we take the opportunity to develop and learn from it.
Thought all the players in traning trained how the first team was going to line up, so there's no excuse for ''being thrown together''.
