Lamela, Errikson and Chiriches in

    lennon, Gylfi and Caulker out

Just going on Youtube here to form my own opinion, but that is a good progressionn - and if Baldini thinks so then <ok>

This is undoubtedly a year of transition, but alot of what we are doing is just shipping out players that arn't making enough of an impact and getting in ones that *should be good enough to get us Champions league football and stay there. Or at the very least be competitive in all four competitions we are in year in, year out.

No more Harry silly buggers of not even bothering with the Europa when it would be a great competition to win.

If you dont have a squad to compete in the Europa, you certainly dont have one deep enough for the CL.

Roma have announced Ljajic (Lamela replacement?) has signed. So makes sense if our signing is going through.

what is happening in this press conference. I wanna hear some actual info from Mr Boas rather than media bull.
Seems the media aren't covering it, typical. 20mins in now aren't we?

Hi spurm, yep that's my understanding too. To repeat I have nothing against Lamela, it's Willian and Hulk, ie AVB pet buys I have issues.

Probably 'couldn't care less' about Lamela was the wrong phrasing, I was rather drunk at the time. It's just I'm not excited about him and would rather have kept Bale. It seems now that's almost impossible, so fine get in Lamela. TBH, I'd just as soon have another striker to back up Soldado and 'release Ade'.

As long as we get Vlad, I think our weakest link is back up keeper, that's the gap I most want to see plugged.

In a nutshell SG.<ok> That somes up the completely unrealistic attitude of some managers.

We need to get 4th so we can't put out a strong team in the Europa???? So not much point getting 4th then is there. Especially when having got there there we didn't strengthen the team.

    This time it's different. ;)

Its a really poor and unprofessional liveblog. The "comedy" spelling of tiblisi (which i no doubt also can't spell but its an honest mistake) and phrases like "While we're waiting for SLOWCOACH Villas-Boas to get to the ruddy stage and tell us what time Bale's flight to Madrid is going to be taking of"

    Terrible

Everyone keeps saying we should get 4th with our new current & potential signings...but with these players, despite the transitional period, surely Spurs will be aiming for 3rd at the very least?! Let's be a little more ambitious...go on, to do is to dare!

I would say that sticking in the title hunt a similar length of time that we did under Harry that year is possible and based on the squad depth i wouldn't expect us to fall away as badly either. I think 2nd is achievable if we have a good season.

I think it's good that the mirror is giving work placements to 10 year olds whilst the holidays are on.

For those that don't want to give the Mirror an internet hit:

MirrorSport understands that Lazio midfielder Hernanes , Valencia's Ever Banega and one other playmaker have been contacted by Spurs with a view to a quick move.

Hernanes has so far refused to sign a new contract in Rome, and while Lazio president Claudio Lotito is reluctant to let his man go, the Brazil international is keen for pastures new.

"Until today no one has knocked on our door for Hernanes," Lotito told Corriere dello Sport. "Getting rid of Hernanes is not our intention; we intend to keep him."

Some more big news for Spurs right now.

IMHO based on the placements' work, they can tell the real staff they're surplus to requirements.

For this I think we would need:

    NEW LB (BAE out)
    NEW STRIKER (ADE out)
    Lamela (Lennon out)
    Errickson (Gylfi out)
    Chiriches (Caulker al ready gone)

If we kept Bale i'd say we were in with a chance of the title.

Without, I think 2-3rd is what we should push for and hopefully get 4th as a worst case scenario.

If we aim for 4th, then it's less likely to happen imo. We need to get this group of players used to having a winning mentality. years of substandard performances are not easy to errase, so this could also be another reason for shipping out so many players.

What better way to revitalise the clubs amibitions and belief on the pitch then to change the players and the quality coming in.

    Last year saw:

    NEW WORLD CLASS TRAINING GROUND
    NEW MANAGER

    this year has seen:

    NEW WORLD CLASS SQUAD
NEW WORLD CLASS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL

    Just need:

    NEW WORLD CLASS STADIUM

and we are good to go!

Bale was AWOL according to AVB.
Guess he's a twat then (BAle, not AVB)

    From Mirror:
AVB has said that Tottenham will consider fining Gareth Bale after he hasn't showed up at Spurs' training ground for two days in a row.

That means that he at least thinks Bale will be a Spurs player long enough for that to happen. With only five days left to go in the transfer window, that could be a very significant statement.

AVB on Bale's absence: "I don’t think its correct behaviour".

Here's the news we've all been waiting for, Bale is on the way out:

AVB says that spurs are in the final stages of drafting Bale's contract with Real. "It's a dream move for him."

AVB: "This [transfer] can happen in a different way ... [but] Tottenham will accept most likely the biggest transfer in world football."

    BALE GONE!
