Reports this morning are that Palace and Everton may be interested in signing JB. Apparently we have placed a 3M price on him but whether they will match his wages is another question. Personally I now hopes he stays (I too have changed my mind) as he has seemed to have turned over a new leaf. His steel in midfield is what we are going to need to get out of this division. Interestingly, the Newcastle fans are saying that they would welcome JB back as they need his steel to stop them entering this division.
personally I too would like to see him stay. on the evidence of last night. we'll struggle to get promoted without him.
Sadly, I believe he will go. The object of the clear out has been not only to cut out the cack but to rationalize the wages and create some parity. Barton's wages now stick out like a sore thumb. I would imagine that we are still paying part of the wages of some of those that have gone out on loan, but at least they are not playing alongside each other every week.
He's tried agitating for a move by slagging us off and saying how much he loves other clubs, didn't work. Now he's doing it the professional way, trying his best, talking the talk and behaving. Makes him a much more attractive prospect to other clubs, I hope he gets what he wants.
He HAS to stay. Our midfield last night proved they're not in Barton's league. I think Redknapp realises that, Barton seems to be in a good place and I think he'll stay. Everton will be the only team to tempt him away and it's the club he supports. Doesn't strike me as a Martinez type player and with the emergence of Ross Barkley there isn't much need for Barton. I concede much will depend on Fellani's situation though.
My worry is if he doesn't get his move, will he refer to type or will he keep his head down and get on with it?
It showed yesterday what we would be like without Barton. Praying he stays but got a bad feeling is off.
He may go to Everton....won't go to Palace Depends if Everton off load their two( Fellani and Baines) to ManUre I hate to say it too...we need him...but need him in the right frame of mind
Hes staying, said "its not the right move for me or my family" ie they wont pay the stupid wages hes on here.
Do you think Le Toon will have him back? If they can't get a ready made French replacement for Cabaye ... there's always Le Barton.
Great that Joey has started this season so well, the real miss last night was the Ale Faurlin of old, if he could return to that level Barton wouldn't be such a miss. JB could easily have been sent off in that game against the Owls, on another day we may still be cursing the fact we ever took him. Seems like we missed creativity as much as anything last night
Joseph Barton ‏@Joey7Barton 3h @mr_seanhughes 3 dots are that they tried but its not the right move for me and my family right now. Hope they stay up as I like Holloway. I still think he'd leave if a decent PL club came in for him. Really hope Everton keep fellaini now..
