We can't sign another loan player, we already have the two we're allowed. Does anyone know for certain if the rules are different for U21 loans? I know it's been mentioned on here before, but I can't seem to find any definitive details on additional loans if the player is U21. This came up when we were discussing Powell previously, but I ignored it as wiki said he was 22, but he isn't, he's only 19.
I think Arsenal want rid permanently, their 'contribution' to his departure may improve the nearer the window is to closing.
Unless he's had a Eureka moment and realised he's pricing himself out of every move available to him, I don't see this happening. Without actually knowing anything, I'm willing to bet that Anichebe would be a far, far cheaper and more realistic option.
According to the PL handbook there's no difference. It's a limit of two loan players at a time, and only 1 from any club at the same time. The only exceptions are if you make a move permanent or if one of them is a goalkeeper and you've got special dispensation. http://www.premierleague.com/conten...handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2013-14.pdf (it's somewhere in pages 190-200) The U21 thing is that they don't count towards your 25 man squad, and the cut off date for that this season is that anybody born on or after 1st January 1992 can be left out the 25 and put on the U21s list to give you space for other players if you need it. EDIT: Slight caveat, foreign loans don't count as loans.
So we need to find ourselves a foreign loan striker then, how about we swap Prossy for someone in Germany on loan, any decent strikers over there that are surplus to requirements? Maybe he'd do well in Austria, we could do a loan swap for Philipp Hosiner(Prossy, along with a €1m loan fee and an option to buy at €4m at the end of the season).
Heard Everton, Newcastle, Sunderland, Hamburg and Leverkusen are interested Hosiner. Great scoring record though.
Are Sunderland the new QPR? Just buying players for the sake of stopping other clubs buying them? In any case, if we bid now and get it tied up behind the scenes, those other clubs interests will be also rans. Proschwitz has alread played in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, so he should be used to cold, mountainous conditions.
Can we not sign this guy, just to piss off Burnsy and Swanny? He's got a French passport, so no faffing about with a work permit... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudio_Ramiadamanana
Mirror reckon if we can offload NickyP, Sb will be given the green light to do a deal for Bendtner. Deal back on?
Even though the bloke clearly has a bit of an over-inflated opinion of his abilities, I'd have him here. He would improve our attack no end.
I think he's had a bit of a rough deal from the media. I mean given Steve Bruce is as honest as the day is long and has such integrity, why would he try and sign such a twat , as he is painted in the press?? Don't add up.
Really don't know about Bendtner, see a fair bit of him for Sunderland and sometimes bloody great and sometimes away with the fairies. He desperately wants the World Cup and his options are limited, but he would get starts with us. Probably a bloody good foil for Aluko. I got the impression from the SB interview that something may be already in the offing for Prossy; SB does not play his thoughts on players like that.
I've heard it said that it is false bravado and all rather tongue-in-cheek. Either way I think he could definitely do a good job for us. Would prefer him to Anichebe, although it has been notice that he wasn't in the Everton squad for the cup match tonight.
Yeah gotta say I'd love us to get him, a striker who at least has some sort of record in the PL, and hasn't done too bad in two previous spells with Bruce, but I'd definitely not want to pay overs for him. Might sit on it until the final day to see how desperate he/Arsenal get.
