    Wickham is poor, championship standard

PDC out, only got a point from 1st 2 games in the season with a compleatly new team and now losing to MK Dons

    20 minutes later

PDC in, we're going to have a brilliant season

Wickham should be starting, what we doing looking at Ji

If this teaches us anything, its that we need to have a bit of patience

Patience with the players, patience with the manager, patience with the results

This season isnt going to be easy, we have 11 new players. Nearly a full new team, the only position we havent got someone new is LB. It gonna take time for PDC to get the team right, get to know the players and stop the knee jerk reactions. some players he has bought in might not work out, some might be ok, hopefully one or two will be real gems. The player need time to gel with each other, time to adapt to the premier league.

Patience and faith is what we need, I just hope PDC, the players and Short get it.

I'm afraid that the patience thing needs to be extended to the manager as well though? Picking and dropping players game by game isn't going to gel the team or the spirit and he needs to leave well alone for a few games and give the new players a chance to grow and develop.

I know that this commentary means I will be branded a mag, a MoN arse licker and a bitter man?

What it actually does is show I can be much more versatile in my thinking than mere pack following but what the **** eh? Fill yer boots?

your entitled to your opinion, but mine is people are judging PDC too quickly.

Managers are entitled to chop and change, in fact i applaud it when done for tactical reason. Bruce and MON didnt have the gumption to do it and got criticised for it, now you critisice PDC for doing it?

its all opinions mate, but lets not turn this thread into a slaggin match as well; eh?

I like the fact he picks and drops players for certain games, but for a couple of minutes it would have gotten us 3 points against Southampton!!
Or would you rather he picked the same team and lost??

He is a modern manager and will use different systems I'm prity sure it's Gona work, and I for 1 won't be jumping the gun and getting in his back, he has made massive strides this season already for me..

P.s. we all want the same thing at the end of the day so lets back the bloke instead of constant negative comments?!

To be fair Cest' I don't think we saw Paolo's true style last year as he came in with very little time and a job to do. This may well be how he manages? I agree that some decisions have been strange mainly Cabral on Sat but then apparently he was awful 2night? So maybe Paolo was right?

We still have to remember Paolo is working with a limited squad and I would like to think a few more important signings will happen.

PDC knows a lot more than us about football and what we need against certain teams. He is the boss and I am all for his style of management

It is too early in the season and PDC's Sunderland career for diatribes against him- regardless of how well you may regard your own wit, wisdom or "versatility of thinking" - is that a politicians phrase to give scope for back tracking?

I would not have been happy with the defeat and the nature of it - but I would not be measuring him up for a coffin yet some seem to be cheerily putting the lid on his career.

I think we all hope for Paolo to succeed and to see Sunderland improving.

I think looking at the team and us struggling in CM is the decision to let Alfie go. Again I don't k ow if this was player led or money led etc.

I think we'd have struggled with Alfie though. I don't think he was the answer.
