Tony Norman, Peter Skipper, Garry Parker, Les Mutrie, Andy Dawson. Can't think of another - maybe Billy Whitehurst Edit - scrub Parker / add Deano and Stuey Elliot Still can't get to 7
1. Peter Shilton. 2. Les Mutrie, Dean Windass, Pete Skipper, Stuart Elliott, Tony Norman, Alan Fettis and Andy Dawson. I'm a sad bastard, I know.
Yes, yes, and yes! Well done for not saying Kenny Sansom, which is the (wrong) answer I was expecting. Sansom has the most PFA team appearances with 11 - but three of them are from the 2nd and 3rd tiers, whereas all 10 of Shilton's were in the top flight.
I honestly knew them. I did think Sansom was the answer to the first question until recently though, only a pub quiz told me the actual answer. These are the sort of things I learn down the local.
Here's five questions, just general football: 1. Who scored the first ever Premier League hat-trick? 2. Which 4 managers have managed 100+ Champions' League games? 3. Which seven goalkeepers have worn Manchester City's No.1 shirt during the Premier League Era? 4. Which 6 players have scored more than 30 goals in a single Premier League season? 5. What is the connection between Sherlock Holmes and Portsmouth AFC?
4. Shearer, Henry, Horse Boy, Phillips? Fowler? Wright? 5. I know Conan Doyle lived in Pompey for a while, close to where Fratton Park is. Is a road named after Holmes?
4. You got 3 of them, still need 3 more (I assume Horse Boy is Owen) 5. Nope. That's 3 of them. One more needed.
That's he other three. Shearer, Cole, Henry, Phillips, Ronaldo and Van Persie are the only players to score more than 30 in one season. Drogba scored 29 in 09/10, and Fowler scored 28 in 95/96.
