Hope he gets some time. He is a fantastic young player.

Im not going to mention him in the same breath as anyone, as that is just tempting some form of Adam Pepperization of his talents

Strong line up. Alot of pace in that front 3. Looking forward to see how some of these perform.

Should be more than enough, just hope he gives Sturridge a rest ( after we are up) so he is fit and ready for United.

    Johnson - Wisdom - Toure - Cissokho
    Alberto - Gerrard - Allen
    Ibe - Sturridge - Sterling

Really expected Borini to play instead of Sturridge but I guess Danny needs matches

Why Sturridge and Gerrard starting. And Toure could've done with some rest aswell. Hope it's only one half, I really wanted to see Borini start though, his confidence must have hit rock bottom. feel for the chap. He deserved a start today.

i know its early in the season but i am aghast that gerrard and sturridge are out there. borini i agree should start and with england coming a rest for sturridge in particular is wise

  15. I understand Sturridge, he needs to matches to get sharp after injury, but Gerrard is a bit of a surprise. BR must be taking it seriously. Expect Gerrard, Toure and Sturridge to come off at some point. Just leaves Johnson <yikes>

I'd rather we start with a strong team get a few goals and then take players off to rest them. In the past we have put out teams full of youngsters and then when we fall behind have had to bring on some of the first team who have to play falt out to try to save the game, and often have not been able to.

I would like us to go 3-0 up then replace Gerrard, Sturridge and Toure with subs. Don' know who is on the bench though.

Only Agger on the bench for defense, unless Hendo plays as a defender.

Must add, this is our first ever black back four. What a history making moment.

Surprised there isn't some more youth on the bench considering the strong line up. Everyone's talking about taking Toure/Gerrard off but they'd have to be replaced by Henderson/Lucas & Agger who have also played last 2 games. Thought McLaughlin, Kelly, Teixera might have been on the bench if we were 3-0 up could give them a run out.

A little disappointed that there aren't any wildcards on the bench (McLaughlin, Tex, Sinclair maybe) but excited to see Ibe and Alberto all the same.

Concerned that we might over play Toure and Stevie.
