Ah apologies. I thought we were discussing ideal England team. As yes he is out for months I think. Milner is terrible. I'd have Johnson instead of him.
Dare I say Ashley Young, I know he's not been very good but we need someone with some pace. Clearly we aren't going to out play the top teams so we should be looking to play fast counter attacking stuff.
One English player who needs to get his head out of his arse and start making the most of his talent is Adam Johnson. He has the potential to be a very good player but by all accounts he has a massive attitude problem.
I guess you just heard them on TV, or were you at any of the matches? I attended a few and its a million times worse! You just had to hope that the guy behind you wasn't a 'spitter', i.e. you ended up with half his lungs splashed across the back of your head. Nothing quite as charming as turning around and seeing spit dribble out of a vuvuzela that's been pointed straight at your head from a few inches away all match.
My sister-in-law is married to one of your lot and lives in Cape Town. She bought my son a vuvuzela. It produces one of the most hideous noises I've ever heard. Worse than a Beyonce song. Fortunately they are banned in English football stadiums.
Wow. Have you spoken to her since? That's pretty much unforgiveable! I would 'lose' the vuvuzela as soon as possible! In July 2010 I went to the USA for my brother's wdding. We flew in late and only got to his house at 1am... Was woken up at 6am by my parents, my brother and his fiance all taking turns to blow the lovely present they brought him! Needless to say I was not a happy chappy. Vuvuzelas are instruments of torture and should be banned along with Guantanamo Bay...
Have to agree, whoever invented them should be left in a room, handcuffed to a chair with Jack Bauer turned loose on him.
Passed or past? I'd stick pick Gerrard myself. Which says everything about our prospects because he is indeed past it. The future though is Wilshere and Barkley.
I'd pick Gerrard ahead of Milner. Stick him at RM and get him to play like Beckham used to - accurate crosses and long balls from deep. That way you benefit from his range of passing but you're not relying on him in the centre where he can be a bit of a liability. Most of his good play at Euro 2012 came when he drifted out to the right anyway. Also has the advantage of getting Milner out of the team
