Then why hasn't Becchio come out and said he isn't a money grabbing whore Warnock made him out to be? Fine believe that Becchio was the 2nd coming who loved Leeds and is a complete legend and that the **** Warnock forced him out despite no evidence to say so and no denial on Luciano's part. I'll see Becchio for what he and the vast majority of modern footballers are. Money grabbers who will take been rich for life over the fan's love everytime.
To be fair to Becchio, he wasn't a home-grown player. He wasn't even an English player. He had no real affiliation to Leeds United at all. Fan's love or not, is he really going to turn down an opportunity to both further his career and perhaps secure financial security for life just because the fans like him? Many footballers play for clubs they have no affinity with, just like regular people often have jobs they don't particularly enjoy. That Barnsley game aside, Becchio never gave anything less than 100% for the club, and with football in the state it's currently in, that's the best you can hope for. There's no loyalty in the game anymore, simple as that.
That's true but we and the club showed him a lot of loyalty. Gave him chances when he wasn't playing well (well more than any other club would), fans constantly supported him ect and he kind of threw it back in our face for money. And I think there has been a few more than just Barnsley where Becchio has seemed disinterested.
