Doesn't seem like a lot. Really surprised by those wages!

Hopefully not another Goran Bunjevcevic. <yikes>

Mate, I read somewhere a year ago (thought was bollocks at the time but seems viable now) that the top teams in Romania, like Steaua pay an average wage of around £4k-£5k a week to their players... So £19k a week for Chiriches is probably a 200%-300% pay rise.

It's mad when you compare it to over here, youngsters like Ryan Mason earn £4k a week and he's yet to kick a ball in the Prem.

Maybe if Levy was watching Eastern Promises on TV last night, then he'd know how to deal with Russian gangsters...

    Yeah i did.

No it didn't. I always saw that as the ending. It was well done though, the directing and what-not, quite clever.

It's all about relative standards of living. On £250k you can probably buy half of Romania..

Yep, me and the girlfriend pretty much guessed that is how it would end from about Series 3 (we watched them all in quick succession which prob helps) and there were LOADS of hints throughout series 6 at the direction it was going in (if you can remember well enough think conversations had with Bobby on the boat and with Sil after the restaurant "incident")
(trying not to provide spoilers here)

    Token Bale comment, lol.

When it first aired on HBO, numerous local cable providers received a huge number of calls from people thinking there was a fault with the signal.

The first three or four seasons of The Sopranos deserve all the praise they get from people who weren't watching it when it was actually on (unlike me, I was watching it on Channel 4 more or less from the beginning) but the last couple dragged and jumped all over the place.

Yes, i thought my downloaded version had crapped up, until i thought about the previous couple of minutes and put it all together. I re-watched the final scene 3 times, it was very clever imo.

This Lamela transfer seems to be dragging out....

Hope we don't end up in a situation where we sign no one and Bale leaves - got a horrible feeling this may happen now.

It's no risk for Levy is it? If he makes the grade he gets a new contract on double or treble the money and if not he is easy to move on based on that salary. The situation to avoid is someone like Bentley (or even Ade) on big money and long contract. They are difficult to move on if they don't work out.

Apparently Roma have now agreed a deal to sign Ljalic, who is seen as Lamela's replacement. This has been a factor in why Lamela's transfer has been held up, supposedly.

Lamela arrives tonight according to a few sources and his medical is scheduled for tomorrow.

everything always seems to be "tomorrow" doesn't it?! <laugh>

Totally agree. But this is all part of the bale deal, so we have to be patient. There will be a Domino affect very soon.
AVB has stated that there is a lot more to come. I didn't think we'd be seeing many new arrivals, but lamela and chiriches look very close.
He's clearly desperate for a LB too, so to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if there's up to 5 new players to come in yet.

    Bales replacement
    LB
    CB
    Creative player
    Striker.

You never know. This window has been very good so far and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
