Speak English, and if you don't like it go back to your Moshi Monsters site. Bell end.

It appears some of us are less one dimensional than you are... Perhaps you would be better taking your sparkling wit elsewhere?

Looks like this may not be the QPR board for you then. There are plenty of others out there, have a look at them.

This is a forum for QPR supporters to talk about whatever they want; many of our best threads have had nothing to do with football or QPR. If you only want football I'd suggest you check out QPR Report, Macmoish doesn't allow any off topic threads.

On the other hand, you are more than welcome to stay and feel free to pitch in any threads that take your fancy.

Clearly Jqpr's in no position to tell anyone what not to post- particularly given his meagre 23 contributions. But he does have a bit of a point, ten out of twenty non-stickied threads on the front page currently are OT, which seems a bit OTT. It looks like the front page only displays 22 threads, so stuff like that "pub joke" thing is essentially bumping real QPR material off the immediately visible site. I posted an article about Palace wanting Barton earlier, and it got 4 responses. I'd probably get more interest if I started a thread about what everyone wipes their arses with

This board has developed over time and will carry on in it's way. It evolved through discussion and majority vote. You have the choice to read a thread or not read it. The OT thing makes it pretty easy for you. Get a grip of yourself. Much love.

Fair enough. But this is a QPR forum, and in the interests of the forum developing, we need to attract more QPR fans. The more fans who contribute, the better it is all around.
OT threads are mainly of interest to the existing body of posters who've got to know one another, and so are interested in the minutiae of one another's lives. If someone browsing for QPR discussion stumbles across this forum, and sees everyone discussing their preferred brand of toilet paper, they're likely to move elsewhere.

I'd hate for it to get to the stage where not-606 is one of those stuffy cliquey sites that's essentially a social club for one little group of posters.

The front page here can only display 22 threads, so if 50% of them end up being OT, that only 11 QPR related ones. WATRB on the other hand can display 46 threads on it's front page, which are often all on topic. That mean's there's sometimes four times the QPR related material instantly accessible there, than here!

The discussion and quality of posting is much better here, as most people who've got to know the site will agree. But for anyone looking for an immediate "hit" of qpr when they turn on their computer, it's sometimes no wonder they might favour other sites!

Fair enough with that one too.

I appreciate your point and it's not easy to solve. A lot of people on here enjoy the OT stuff and indeed a second, non QPR related forum was thought about, but couldn't materialise (not that I'd have been for it). So the alternative is to not allow OT subjects but that would limit a big part of what this board is about.

Anyone who ever joins and dips a toe is warmly received.

That would not be a "grate" choice, Nines. I'm here all week, etc.

Interesting post Grifter, but it is what it is. Our existing contributors are putting up posts that interest them, being they on or off topic, to attract comment from the others. If something is not of interest it drops off the front page, if it catches people's imagination it stays. With particular reference to your Barton thread I think that it maybe more because people are avoiding another row about our latest Marmite man.

There is no way that we would want to try to influence what people post, or introduce OT quotas; that would sound the death knell of this forum. I think the balance usually sorts itself out. Personally I'd love to bin the Word Association thread, but over 11,000 replies would indicate that many others are of a different opinion to me; I just ignore it.

As for WATRB having four times the amount of QPR material on their front page, maybe it is just more diluted. I doubt that there are many QPR stories that we miss here.
