What if all this noise about him leaving for United is just noise and his contract problems are down to the agent or something similar? Then we will have already turned on one of our best players and he will subsequently do an Adebayor and leave at the end of next season. Believe it when you see it. If Nasri goes to Man United, give him all the abuse in the world. Not before then.
I know his reputation is tarnished. But do we want to be sitting here in two years time thinking that we need a player like him to complete our side and know that it was us who pushed him away?
It's not a crime to seek what you believe you're worth wages wise. I know that in an ideal world, all our team would forgo a salary just for the pure honour of pulling on the Arsenal jersey. I'm with the op. Nasri hasn't effectively done anything wrong here yet. I mean Rooney actually demanded a transfer request to ensure a higher salary and in less than 6 months he'd already redeemed himself
Alvarez could be a better player. Have both. Miyaichi is not ready for a whole season in the first team.
Exactly. Even rereading what he said there, he could be commenting on the fickle nature of the transfer window reporting. I don't want to be the in denial Utd supporters who refused to accept Ronaldo was leaving them. But I think it's too early to jump the gun on Nasri. As I've already said, this could well be a case of posturing to ensure a better contract. Not overly endearing but pretty forgivable. I can't believe how quickly the lynch parties assemble.
Will he even get a work permit? I don't know why we discuss whether he is ready when probably has no chance of even playing for us yet.
I know what he has in terms of potential. I also know what the premier league does to fast, inexperienced, tricky players. If he gets his special talent visa then he'll be used in cup competitions for at least half the season while he adapts to Arsenal's style of play and gels with our players on the training pitch. He has the work ethic, the intelligence, the skill, the athletic ability. But he crucially has next to no experience.
You've hit the nail on the head, son! Our own beloved Modric came out and said he loves Spurs and has no intention of leaving, and we all heaved a collective sigh of relief. Indeed, that's why SAF is now after Nasri. All the fellow has to do is come out and say he's not going to United. In fact, he's effectively come out and said the exact opposite; he's holding out a hope that United will come in for him. That's the real reason he's not signing a new contract with you guys, because he knows that United will go for him now that they can't capture their preferred choice, Moddy. I remember when you guys were dancing in the streets because United took Berbatov off us. Most of you would probably forgive me for doing the same, but I'm better and bigger than that. All I feel is pity.
Nasri is a very overrated **** who has only shone in 6 months that has been at Arsenal which is quite dismal considering that he has been at the club for for 3 years. He has done NOTHING to justify a new contract forget a hefty pay rise. He is utterly useless in his favorite midfield position and ineffective for most parts of the game when played out wide. We should get rid of him and bring in Adam Johnson from Citeh who is a much better and productive player than Nasri.
First off, where did the Nasri demanding £100,000 pw rumours originate? Do they have any substance? Second off, Nasri's performances in the first half of the season were beyond exceptional. He single-handedly won us points with individual goals of the highest quality. Did people expect him to continue on in this vein throughout? Look at the ****ing idiot we play at left-back behind him. Don't forget all the brouhaha about how Clichy had improved when it was actually more the case that Nasri was tracking back to help him. Rumour has it that Arshavin is on £70,000 a week and on the basis of what they do for their clubs I'd pay double that to keep Nasri. He is one of the few genuine workers in our team who covers up for a large amount of the ridiculously inept, self-aggrandising and ouright lazy ******s at our club. Replace him with Adam Johnson? No thanks. I like us being in the Champions League.
You got to hope that he is trying to play a contract game by using the Man Utd link. Not sure why they would want him. He is not a United player. Also Wenger has already said we are not going to sell to them. Anyway we will deal with it after his games with France. One thing that must not happen is him leaving for free.
Off form? I've seen Arshavin saunter onto the pitch and allow full backs to stroll past him without even pretending to make a challenge. I've seen him miscue more shots than a twisted Alex Higgins. Actually, the truth is that I've never, ever seen such utter and complete disinterest in the game as I've seen from Arshavin this season. (Refresh my memory - what was your major beef with Fabregas last season?) Don't get me wrong. I see Arshavin's natural ability but if it's not backed up by a work ethic then they're of little use to the team. Nasri posesses an instantaneous gear-changing pace, is an incredible dribbler and finisher of the ball and the cherry on the Nasri sundae is that he genuinely works his socks off for the team too. Would Arshavin have dragged us to victory against Fulham? Of course he wouldn't. He'd be too busy attempting flicks that have a one-in-ten chance of coming off rather than putting his foot on the ball and making something happen himself. That takes guts and character. Arshavin has neither. But you'd prefer him in the team? Ok then.
Stay loyal, We'll offer you peanuts, we'll sign no world class players needed in certain positions, we've got a manager who thinks finishing 2nd is success and we won't win the EPL in the near future or ever win the CL, but stay loyal
I think Nasri will suit Manchester United's left wing and attacking midfield perfectly. He'll be cheaper than Modric too, the Guardian is speculating about £10million. I'm thinking about £15-£20million.
I do hope that Nasri stays in the PL. He's a great player, and his talent lights up every game. He's alway been one of the Gooner's greatest threats whenever we've played them. Yeah, and okay, sure, we took 4 points off you this season, but Nasri was always a threat. I'd rather him go to United than City, as I would hate to think that he was a mercenary. I expect him to have more class than that.
I think the core trio of Fabregas, Nasri and Van Persie are all vitally important to AFC and should all be on similarly high wages. Other rumours circulating are that should he leave, it will be to a top destination. That's because he is a top player. Could I see the top clubs fighting it out for the signature of most of the rest of our players? Not at all. From what we'd save from cutting Denilsons wages would be enough to offer a pay rise to both Van Persie and Nasri, assuming we didn't replace Denilson directly. I don't see why our top players only earn a little bit more than the mediocre dross in the squad. And perhaps £100,000 is too much in our terms but it doesn't seem extortionate when players are earning double that amount elsewhere. If Nasri is seeking £100,000 per week then he is only looking for what he believes he is worth to the club. And I happen to think he is worth that much personally. I was just making a point that Nasri's contribution is easily twice that of Arshavin. And I also think Nasri's fallen victim of his own early success this season. He was heavily marked in many games when teams saw what he'd done earlier in the season. But his work-rate did not diminish one iota throughout although I'm sure, like Chamakh, having made such an enormous contribution to the team in the first half must have taken it's toll on him. Look, ultimately I think he's one of the few players we have who genuinely posesses class. When I see what some of his teammates are on, let alone players at other clubs, I don't think his demands are ott if they're even of substance. No, he's not the new Zidane but he's still a class act. Also sorry if I'm coming across as narky. The Johnson comment got me riled. Moreso than it probably should have.
If you get rid of Arshavin, you'd be able to pay Nasri what he is demanding to continue to wear your club's shirt. Simples!
As for as I am concern if Nasri decide to leave i have no hard feeling. It's so ironic how Atrsenal fans keep on saying we should buy other players from other clubs without any consideration for supporters of those clubs, but when the table is turn they become irate.IT's up to a player to decide where is future lie and the only loyalty to a club lie with the owners beacause they are the one who is investing.
Your superior knowledge is inferior to mine. What, was the United game the only match you attended this season? I'll give Arshavin that. He played like a demented man that day. That doesn't compensate for the rest of his abysmal performances though. You know how else he's dangerous? You know those times where most of the team is pushing on hard with posession and the ball comes to Arshavin. He takes a touch before slipping it inside to....oh yeah, the opposition defender. And pow boom they're on the counter attack. Luckily for us though, despite his inexpicable mistake you can count on Arshavin to race back to make up for his error..oh no wait, he's just strolling past the half-way line now and they're about to score. Seriously, you'd want to buck up your understanding of the game if you want to be taken with anything other than a pinch of ******edness.
