Both are posing with suitcases labelled 'Peru' and which appear to contain a number of packets - and a placard branding them "The Peru 2". The sign further declares: "Drugs is for mugs." Michaella McCollum and Melissa Reid, both aged 20, are facing drug trafficking charges in Peru, after being stopped at Lima airport with £1.5m worth of cocaine hidden in packets of Quaker oats. They claim they were kidnapped and forced at gunpoint to carry the drugs. Some social media users were shocked by the picture of children pretending to be the two women. "That's incredibly disrespectful to the girls' families," one Twitter comment read. But others laughed it off, with remarks like: "Best fancy dress costume ever!" If they plead their innocence, Michaella McCollum and Melissa Reid could face up to three years in jail in Peru before their case ever goes to trial. A subsequent conviction could carry a prison sentence of up to 15 years each.
