Sadly though in truth......on another day and a different lines man he would not have been given offside. The fact is whether he was right or wrong doesn't matter very much now as the game is over and declared a draw. The discussion as to whether he was right or wrong does not really have much credence any more. You could argue we was robbed but in reality it will all balance out in the end. I have a feeling we will be having this conversation on a few occasions me thinks this year as I am reasonably certain this is not going to be the only occasion when a dubious decision doesn't go our way.
You can't be serious! Of course the cut of the grass is parallel with the 18-yard line (and the halfway line, and the end touchlines...) Why on earth would they go to the extra effort to cut a confusing (not to mention ugly) oblique pattern into the grass?
Agree its between Defoe & Lambert now Sturridge has returned. Considering Defoe has done nothing you'd hope Lambert keeps his place as he offers something different.
OK guys, this is what happened. J-Rod's goal is reinstated by appeal to FIFA, Westwood is given a retrospective red card for arguing with the decision, so Rickie's third and fourth attempts at goal go in unopposed. Gardener is retrospectively sent off for being a complete ****, and so Gaston and Dani both score as well. Di Canio is retrospectively banned for life for invading Abisynnia, the whole of the North of England (north of Winchester) is declared terra incognito, and Southampton win the Premier League. Or we could just accept the ref's decision and move on...
