Thank you Derby for resting so many players. This could have been a whole lot harder with Chanderpaul, Madsen and Clare in the middle/lower order.

Bowl the spinners through and finish with Wood and Dimi, hopefully the game will be virtually over by the time Wood bowls...Six wickets down now.

They've not scored a boundary since Hughes got out. To some degree, it just shows how important Hughes and Durston were for them, given how many players have been rested.

    And another wicket for Carbs.

For the second time in a week, Carberry records his best ever one-day bowling figures.

Notts join us both in qualifying for the SFs, and having a home tie.

Last year though, both home teams lost their SFs.

Looking like Northants or 1 from Somerset/Gloucestershire/Glamorgan will be our opponents in the semis....I hope it's Gloucestershire or Glamorgan.

Suspect you can rule out Gloucs (on NRR), although I haven't done the maths to know exactly how much Northants' NRR has improved by.

0.393 is the answer to Northants' final NRR. Gloucs' was 0.213 before today. So yeah, a really narrow win will be no use to them - and if they do win, it surely will only be a really narrow win.

What that does mean though is that Northants have failed to overhaul Glamorgan's NRR. Glamorgan thus need six more runs to qualify.

It will then be Somerset as the final team if they win, or Northants (almost certainly) if Gloucs win.

Yeah, their match is going to the wire, want them to knock Somerset out though.

I honestly can't decide. Somerset or Northants? That's tough to call this season. Previous seasons I'd be with you all the way. But Northants are an excellent limited overs outfit this season - and Somerset have shown the odd sign of weakness.
