Considering that his heart isn't in it.

This transfer should only happen for two reasons only

    1) we have replacements 100% guaranteed and ready to sign straight away no random players "for the future"

    2) its for the 20 million

If none of the above happen then for the good of the club its not worth it

17m - deal for a player who wants away and has not performed at all near his capabilities

Got to hold out for £20m plus - hopefully PSG will be in for him soon.

Agree 100% about needing replacements already lined up

Very strong twitter rumours that Cabaye is not on strike but is not being chosen in order to protect him from injury. The 'head not right' and 'refusing to play' rumours are apparently false and part of the usual Mike Ashley PR campaign to make selling a (once) popular player more palatable for the fans.

Unsurprising if true - see Andy Carroll.

Also rumours that Tottenham are thinking of making a bid for him. Hopefully true - need the price to go up and the deal to be done quickly.

Mate I said this already; Cabaye most likely did not refuse to play. Ashley is protecting his investment - then puts out a story to make Cabaye out to be a ****. Now, Cabaye most likely wants to leave but Ashley and Arsenal or whoever is buying him have already made the deal - but they will wait to the last day of the transfer window so we don't have to spend the money on a replacement.

Sounds unlikely to me and just rumours. The fans have pretty much accepted he was going a year ago, there would be no massive shock or surprise given we've known he wants off for a year. We finished 5th and he still wanted off. There is no need for the club to spin it, it would be understandable not to pick him if they knew he was going. I suspect strongly this is a manager realising a players heart is not in it and doing the right thing for the group and not the individual. In the modern world of social media and media savvy footballers, Cabaye would have spoken by now if he wanted to play.

He wants to go and we should just take the money. No point in dragging it out or playing him. He is not interested and hasn't been for some time. I'd love to blame this rancid regime but it just doesn't stack up in this instance. Its just a player wanting to move to a big club. Unfortunately he doesn't see to do it the right way. Mind he isn't the first (HBA for example)
