I can see a defeat here by the odd goal so I'm going for 2-1 to the Vile.

Tough game, they all are but one we'd need to be looking to win. They'll adopt the same smash and grab tactics they did on Sunderland. Very disciplined looking to frustrate our team and support

Tough game and not buying Bent might come to bite us.
    1-1 draw.

I'm guessing a Fulham own goal seeing as we can't even hit the target once against the might of West Ham?!

I know we lost to Fulham, but honestly they were not very good, one of our new players lost concentration at a corner and the header that was scored was their only shot. I think we had 20 plus shots but we did not convert. We played poorly at Southampton, but not as bad as Fulham did at SoL and got a point.

If you stop Berbatov you will stop Fulham, and if the greedy bastard Bent comes on just kick him and he will not want to know.

This may be my last match for 2 - 3 months, so I'm looking for a good performance.
Fulham aren't world beaters and like most teams have good and bad days so are beatable.

Defying all logic I think we will score twice and win 2 - 1.
Based on the fact that our pre-season was utter s****, the first two matches have effectively been getting the team match fit.
I know this means hitting the target, but it has to happen sometime so why not on Saturday.
Whilst being tentatively positive, confidence does not go so far as to placing money on the score at my favourite Ladbrokes.

What about Cabaye - If as being reported today the final offer from Arsenal will be £13.5m, what then?
You will expect it to be turned down, and if so should he be considered for the Fulham game.

I don't think Cabaye's heart or head would be in it so I would leave him out. Let him sit on the bench and watch the game from there.

Can't think of a worse punishment than watching NUFC at the moment. That'll learn him.

Just as well we do have a game tomorrow, the boards just about gone dead.

Hopefully a good win will bring a few more posters back.

At the cricket tomorrow, so will miss the football. Personall I think it will be 0-0, never many goals when we play Fulham.

I just can't get it out of my heed.

2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1 with Cisse to score first goal

now I'll have to a have a bet again tomorrow, why, why, why.

you'd think I'd have learnt by now, but, no, still the optimism flows through the black n white blood as ever.
why can't I be a pessimist and a loss or draw might not seem as bad.
I think a blood transfusion is called for.

and I haven't had a drop of alcohol for 5 days, so I cant blame that for the deluded insanity.

Seriously though, team should be interesting, does Pardew start with Nigeria's CF or go with a bit more pace up front?
Will Cabaye start or be on the bench or up his own a*** again?
Will Anita be given another chance in central midfield?
What about Marv, I personally wouldn't play him HBA and Anita in the same team - too lightweight for me.
Will Debuchy feel suitably wanted after Pardews sincere praise for him and justify his wages?
Will the real Papiss Cisse please turn up?
Will REMY be on the bench?

These and many other questions will be answered in the next enthralling episode of the Newcastle United Soap Story.

    2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1.

GOAL - Bayern Munich 0-1 Chelsea - Fernando Torres (8 mins)

Fernando Torres shows Jose Mourinho the value of playing with a recognised striker. Chelsea produce a lovely move, which ends with Andre Schurrle crossing towards Torres from the right and the Spaniard lashes it first time into the top corner. Manuel Neuer had no chance of stopping that.

    Game on.

GOAL - Bayern Munich 1-1 Chelsea - Franck Ribery (47 mins)

Now that's why Uefa rated Franck Ribery the continent's best player last season. The Frenchman's shooting has been erratic this evening but this time he lets fly from 25 yards and his low drive beats Petr Cech. The keeper will be disappointed with that - he flew to his right but couldn't get a strong hand to it and he'll probably think he ought to have done better there.
