Yes, the Broad incident was in the first Test. we needed one more wicket but Oz were chasing us down and we had no answer to it. We just needed to get off the pitch for lunch to regroup and break the batsmen's momentum. although the delaying tactic didn't work the lunch break did and Haddin edged Jimmy just after lunch.

Broad has had a great series in the end with the ball but his reputation as a sportsman has taken a beating with this and the whole not walking incident.

Well it's thanks to Clarke that we even had a chance of winning. And that that same crowd had something to be entertained by.

On many occasions in this situation, I wouldn't have a problem with the booing. Of course they wanted England to win. But not in this situation. Clarke deserved praise, not booing. Not a cat in hell's chance that Cook would have ever tried to set the game up like that.

I don't mind cricket but whenever I watch it I can't help but think that it is a silly game. Nearly every sport is dependent on the weather but when it determines whether you play or not it's a major flaw. I only really followed the first test match, but it doesn't surprise me to hear that an australian cricket team was unsporting. That is how australians like to play sport.

Yes, it's a rather important game this afternoon!

I know other results could save us, but it's pretty much a clear cut case of win today and get a home SF or lose today and get knocked out.

Thank the lord that Carberry, Vince and Briggs are all back. Unfortunately we're still going to be without Tanvir. Therefore Griffiths, assuming he plays, will have to bowl a lot better than he did against Lancs last week.

Eight sides fighting for four places. Only ourselves and Notts have our destiny's 100% in our own hands. Going to be a very interesting afternoon.

Surprised at that to be honest. With the new fielding regulations, I really do feel that batting second is the way to go now.

But then again, if Derby once again put out a weakened side, I can see the logic of looking to get the game wrapped up by the half way mark, by batting Derby out of it.

I'm not surprised Hants are batting first. We don't want the pressure of chasing a big total like we did at Lancs.

Carberry, Vince, McKenzie and Ervine? Pressure, what pressure?! We're probably the best limited overs chasing team in the country, when at full strength.

Any way, no Chanderpaul, Turner or Footitt for Derby. So long as they don't produce the same sort of turning pitch that they played Durham on, then the only thing to fear in their team are their openers.

Not a bad start so far.

Northants, Somerset, Glamorgan, Lancs and Notts will all be happy with their starts too.

Just had an email that says that "Hants are a better team than Derbyshire and Saints are better than Derby, therefore Hampshire is better than Derbyshire"...
Bet the Derby listeners are fuming!...:emoticon-0110-tongu

I can't say I'm Mullally's biggest fan. He has his moments for sure, but invariably I do find myself wondering what Solent were doing when they got him onboard.

Yeah, I'm happy enough with this. Keep wickets in hand, and you can go made in the last 15 overs with only four men on the boundary (three men for the four PP overs).

That said, Somerset and, to a lesser extent Northants, are both flying.

He does liven it up a bit though, he is just not the sharpest tool in the box...The Derbyshire commentator's reaction was funny.
