This week is going to be a good week, I have decided this now. Last night I finally resigned myself to Bale going and now theres that SSN story and Bale apparently coming back to the UK....lets put it this way: for me now I have finally accepted his departure as inevitable, if he goes then we get loads of cash, especially if there is now competition for his signature, and if he stays then I will be over the damn moon and probably laughing at Madrid as well. And the media. And all the fans who have taunted us about him leaving.
So said AVB according to the BBC report, although this does not appear in the video of his after match interview in the version I have seen. So what did they say to Bale? OK Gareth off you go for the weekend and think about your situation and decide what you want to do and then come back on Monday and talk to us.
He has been training Boss that is what is referred to as a 'Job' in football. It's work but not as we know it Jim!
Oh right, training with the team?or turning up not talking to anyone, putting his headphones on and walking on a treadmill?
If we're speculating then this makes more sense than many theories, Bale has been going on holiday to that part of that part of the world for years I believe so even though him suddenly turning up in Spain is a big thing for the media if he wants to go there to relax for a day or two he probably would regardless.
I wouldn't get too carried away about him coming back to the UK. I read a day or two ago that the "weekend Marbella holiday location" is somewhere that he visits regularly and he was always coming back to the UK, regardless. I don't reckon anything's changed. If he's signing a new contract it'll be unbelievable, but sadly I don't think it's true. But it would be a lovely end to this saga seeing him sign one, after us proving that we have big ambitions this season. Imagine.... LOL, plus the fact that the world's media would look like a complete bunch of mugs.
Yeah but all places in the world to go, Spain. If he was truly going away on a break and wasn't signing for Madrid, he could have at least gone somewhere like Switzerland or Croatia LOL
Loadsa people here hate Rooney but said about 100 pages back I'd love us to sign him. Creativity, finishing, work rate and genuine passion.
"Rooney wouldn't want to play for us" The guy said he loved watching Spurs play in the PL and CL. Get an on-pitch seat and save on the TV licence.
You and Wayne best pals and been talking about it? From everything I've seen of Rooney I think he would be interested. He's stated before he loves watching spurs He's unhappy at united as he doesn't 'start' - he would be guaranteed starter at spurs He's ambitious and works hard and i think would appreciate that the other players we have are the same Granted we have no CL but not all players are about that, he could see the potential and think 'I want to be part o that'. I think it's unlikely he'd join or United would even offer us him but the way everyone says 'he won't be interested' with every decent player we are linked to just because we are in the CL is very short sighted and naive. Players are humans - some want CL, some want money, some want to be a clubs 'key man', some want to help clubs grow.
There's no way we can afford his wages. He's currently playing for the champions and is somehow "unhappy". - **** me, he'd have a heart attack at spurs! disappointment at the end of every season, not won anything for ages and aren't in the CL. can you really see Rooney joining that? Things might look good for us based on our signings, but sadly, those are the facts to date. would he really be a guaranteed starter? I'd say it's likely he could start, but i wouldn't say he's guaranteed. Saying that he likes to watch us is one thing, joining us is something completely different.
