When we had Bates in charge we lost player after player when it came to new contracts, Bates would call the players and their agents greedy. I just hope GFH haven't took lessons from Bates and co when it comes to offering new contracts. As far as I am concerned we have been far too slow in telling Boro to get lost, we should have been saying he isn't for sale at any price, instead we almost invite Boro to make the offers which in turn places an increased value on Ross's head which then makes his position far stronger when it comes to contract negotiations. His agent can now turn to the board and say you value him in excess of £2m he wants paying a wage that reflects that. On the other hand GFH know that they can have 2m in the bank so IF Ross asks for what they consider is too much I expect we shall see a swift exit.
