..... So my patients can all just deal with their illnesses.

..... So the kids can teach themselves.

...... So the dying people can drive themselves to the hospital

...... So those toilets can clean themselves.

...... So I won't play for my team who pay my salary.

    Of the above:

The annual salaries of the top 4 roughly equate to the weekly wage of the bottom.

The top 4 would be sacked on the spot and end up on the dole.
The bottom would end up with exactly what they want, a move to a new club and even more f****** money.

One day, as a society, we will stop allowing these uver rich, over pampered, multi millionaire sportsplayers taking proverbial dumps over the peasants who pay their salaries.

I don't know how you can resolve the Cabaye situation. In an ideal world, you dump him in the reserves, refuse to pay him and he doesnt play for anybody for many, many months.

    I wish.

If, and it's a big if, Cabaye refused to play surely the club would dock his wages?

A more likely scenario is, that the club won't let him play in case he gets injured!

If Cabaye were sold, in FM, Debuchy's status would now read
"Feels he was brought to the club under false pretenses"

I would love it if a club owner turned around one day and just sued the player for everything they've ever earned out of the club. It would make some of these muppets think twice about throwing their dummies out. Give me the good old days where players actually lived near fans, showed some loyalty and didn't act like spoiled brats.

He's a twat, I think its far more likely to be him than the club refusing to let him play. Moody little fecker.

    Completely agree.

It's breach of contract.... the thing that boils my blood about it is no club can 'sack' a player as that just means they lose their transfer fee when another club takes them.

If I ran football, I would ensure that players sacked by clubs for gross misconduct (actual gross miscoduct ie bringing the club into serious disrepute or refusing to honour their contract) were not allowed to join another team until the duration of their contract with their club expired.

I know, idyllic and unenforcable, but something needs to be done to bring them off their pedastal. they clearly have their heads too far in the clouds to show any integrity or loyalty to those that pay their wages, so hit them where it hurts if they refuse to honour their contract.

TBF - if the club had showed any ounce of ambition AND bought some players then he would most likely have stayed!

How much does a surgeon get?

How much does a Dr get?

How much does a nurse get?

How much does an engineer get?

How much does a bricklayer get?

All of these people are important to society and contribute to our well being, we depend on them for their services.

A footballer entertains us for 90 mins on Saturday but isn't in the same league as any of them. Put them on an hourly rate and pay them their true value. People who love the game would play for nothing. Just look at all the kids that go out and bust a gut to play for their school teams on Saturday mornings, they feel honored to be playing the game and give it their all for free.

    Sorry, I just can't agree.

Well to put it differently, I agree that what you are saying is true I just abhor that fact.

The club pays him a wage - granted I dont know how much but I daresay he doesnt struggle to make ends meet - to play football for them. That is his job. If a brick layer refuses to lay bricks you wouldnt pay him a penny.

Nobody begrudges a player wanting to move to a bigger club. Well nobody, in the cold light of day when the dust has settled, can reasonably begrudge somebody, be it a footballer, business person or comedian, from moving jobs to further their careers. What I object to is the behaviour of a large proportion of players who want a move. A lot of it comes from being famours from the age of 17, earning top dollar from the age of 20. They have become totally disconnected with the reality of life and totally in their own bubble away from normal civilisation. All they see is the fast cars and the mansions and the glory, and all sense of social and moral responsiblity is flushed dwn the potty after a few years being managed by poisonous agents.

I am ranting here, so I will get to the crux of it. By all means ASK a club to let you go. By all means approach your manager at the start of July and declare interest in furthering your career. Every player has his price. But accept that ultimately it is the club's right of refusal. You agrred to that when you signed the contract, the contract which legally obliges the club to pay you a great deal of money until you move on. As long as they say no you get over whatever quibles you have, put your toys back in the pram and do your sodding job.

Mate, no footballer at SJP has entertained us for more than 1 minute in a year and a half.
