He's always been a talent. He cost us a lot of money in wages, fee and medical costs and I for one respect our club's decision to cut our losses on him. He didn't produce when he returned. We've got much much better in our squad now, same problem as ever though, Not enough players are performing in the same team. Rome wasn't built in a day. I think we'll sort it.
Nowt wrong with passing judgement after 2 games. Part of being a fan. I've been passing judgement since the last day of last season. Changing my mind almost daily, on how this season will go. For me Jozy has done ok, expected him to be stronger like. The RB has been very good ( Kinda looks like cheddar bob from that Eminem movie to me). Pdc got lots right in the first game and most everything wrong yesterday. If the rest of the season goes like last week we will be mid table , but if it goes like yesterday we will be ****ed. I dont subscribe to the thought he was trying to show ES , how ****ed we would be without Cabral and letting Alfie leave was a massive mistake. Even if he was on silly money and didn't want to fight for a place. Campbell was class today and for 1/2 million i would have kept him, as we were very very light upfront when he left. We now have better options, but still would hang on to him.
Agreed, jozy is made for fletch, will be lethal together. Campbell at £500k is a snip in anybodies book Still think cardiff are doomed though
He's a good lad and I am delighted to see him doing well. But he's nowhere near the class of Fletcher. Altidore is also better than him He's probably better than Ji and Wickham (both have potential to be better than him though) but both Wickham and Ji offer something unique to the team
Yeah seen a few people who have already dismissed Altidore as not good enough for the prem. Not every striker we sign will score loads of goals straight away like Steven Fletcher The suggestion that Campbell, who scored 6 goals in 58 appearances for us is better than him is remarkable. People have short memories
Sound lad half decent player (for us anyway), maybe Cardiff set up to play to his strengths I know we didn't when he was on the pitch for us, good luck to him hope he does well for himself. Whatever the rights or wrongs of his sale he has gone, lets move on one admittedly very good game does not a season make.
Most of his appearances for us we played him on the wing, agree with previous poster we never played to his strengths. I for one think he would have been awesome playing off someone like Altidore. I remember pre season before his injury and he was on fire. Said at the time shouldn't have sold him, 600k for an England international, joke I will always remember him for the way he celebrated a goal against newcastle when he was on the bench, nearly got arrested for inciting the crowd
We always have a tendency to play players out of position though don't we. At least recently we do . Richardson- no lb Gardner - no RB (although does a pretty tidy job) Sess - no striker Colback - no lb ( becoming one ..?) Larson - no cm list goes on...... Square pegs don't go in round holes
Read my posts back who can be bothered 5-600k for Campbell a f4 kin joke. He was AWSOME today start to finish n end of
Not at Sunderland anyway, he done a canny job before us. Looks like Robertson was a big factor in his previous jobs, just like Taylor was for Cloughie. Those are the blokes that can walk down the street and not get recognised, but do a massive job in giving the manager a good name!
have a look at a post from myself and others , oneil shagged this club from start to finish when he was here , we gave players away in the new year, and left us short to field a team at all , frazier had it all to give after a bad time out , was coming back strong only for a cluless idiot to get rid of, one of footballs biggest mistakes ever in our history.
He kept us up in his first season. Admittedly towards the end of that season onwards he was dreadful but from 'start to finish' is just incorrect.
Beery reply, just got back from sleepers For any striker to play the way he did is good For any striker to play the way he did after a cruciate op is brilliant For any striker to play the way he did after a 2 cruciate ops ****ing awsome. Not just for the physical recovery but also for the phsycological effect of two major injuries in such a short space of time The man is a star.... and a nice bloke to boot As I said, barring 2 games good look to the lad
Campbell is a great striker and i wish we would have kept him at OT, his problem is he is too brave and will always suffer injuries. Look at his first goal today, he didn`t jump to head the ball, he launched himself at it. He is determined to score and has no regard for personal injury.
