I have a Toshiba TV in my living room. It has two USB points on the back. I would like to use a USB stick to watch films on said TV. However, it keeps saying that the AVI file is an 'Invalid File Type'. I have tried a couple of other formats but it doesn't even recognise them, at list AVI files come up on the listing, they just won't play. Anyone got any ideas...? PS...I don't say buy a new TV / a media player / DVD player / etc #****s Edit: For those that can't be arsed to read the comments, I have worked it out now!
I was expected this twaty responses, hence my 'PS' in the OP However, if I have useful response it will have been worthwhile
Try some of these answers. http://www.hotukdeals.com/ask/films-wont-play-new-toshiba-tv-via-usb-stick-1472689
As far as I know tv's wont play films via a usb slot you would have to plug a console into the tv or your laptop via a pc or hdmi lead.
You can definitely play them in this was as I know others that do it. However, I also know that some TVs don't let you too. I was hoping someone would suggest something that would work
Think I've worked it out using this link. It provides another link to some test files and one of them works (just got to figure out which one now )
Yeah, it plays Windows Media Files (mpeg) but got to figure out how to convert to that type. The converter programme I use doesn't have that option
Don't have a laptop I actually have a media player so I could do it that way but that's not the point, I bought a TV that said it played films via a USB stick. Besides, I see #15 PS...cheers anyway
Converts only got to 20%, might end up having to wait until tomorrow at this rate. Its only a 900Mb film too
