Wow. Taking one of my comments and putting it up as a thread. I'm honoured. As it happens I stand by that comment for a number of reasons: 1: Other performances (Liverpool away, Everton at home) involved an opposition that were playing well. Spurs were rubbish today but we were worse - a lot worse. 2: When your goalkeeper is your team's MOM and not one of your outfield players can hold his head up and say 'I'm happy with my performance' you CANNOT be proud of your team! 3: Yes I expected us to lose but I also expected us to play to our potential. We didn't - and not by a long chalk. The truth maybe somewhere in between, don't know. Maybe we have played worse in the last three years but 'proud' of our players and using words like 'competitive'? You're having a laugh. Well I did anyway.
I thought it was a good performance against a VERY competitive Spurs team playing at home. There were glipses of good play, but many a team will struggle here! It's not here Swansea will get their points. Just to compare --> how many wins of that kind will Card*** get? They'll use themselves up! Picing up 1.5 injury per game, Swansea won't. BTW the worst Swansea performance I saw was the lacklustre game 0-5 against Liverpool!
Still find NJ's comments after the Man U game harsh on a team that conceded 3 world class goals whereas you're happy to be 'proud' of the pap we saw today! Examples: “its not about who the opposition are its about how WE also perform right ? ..we were very poor defensively which gifted utd 2 soft goals, we need to cut out simple errors and up our concentration levels at the back . …All the positive aspects of our play mean nothing if we don't defend correctly, we will come unstuck big time if this continues , forget 30m pound players beating us we are currently beating ourselves !” Yet now you're citing the value of the Spurs team and their bench! “we were chasing a game due to stupid defensive errors” “RVP’s 3rd goal was total quality his first goal was a result of our mistake and not world class.” “There is no doubt in my mind that there is a lack of competition for places in the defence” Discuss. Yes we were crap v Liverpool but they played really well on the day. Spurs didn't today but still won. That's what's annoying.
I think you have totally mis read the nature of that very first sentence my friend. Saying that you thought the boys competed well against "12 men" is not quite as outlandish as you saying "That's the worst performance in 3 yrs " talk about on another planet ! it was Spurs away for Christ sake ! .... Some Jacks really need to calm down and remember we are always going to be up against it against teams like that in their own backyard. As you saw yourself, the ref gave us nothing and never was going to give us anything,what we need to do as fans is take that on board and try and make our Liberty stadium even more indimidating for referee's now ,we need to help the players get some of those 50/50 calls. Some of our boys were carded out of game after 20mins ! in effect not allowed to tackle,that didn't help our cause which ever way you slice it up

Bang on Norway that spurs team is I feel going to be in the mix at the business end of the season and have brought in some quality players well done boys proud of your effort and on another day we may have nicked something STID
Liverpool away without doubt was far worse with no excuses.Today you can see why Canas started in front of Leon ,spurs were physical stronger and sharper and believe or not more talented .Better sides than us will have their work cut out to get anything at WHL ,and yes Vorm kept us in the game but thats why he's paid the big bucks .The manger set the side up for a draw today and with a bit more savvy from a particular player we may have got it but hi ho thats life .Two games don't make a season
If any of you think Spurs will be top 4 after that performance than you're, well...wrong. They need to improve rapidly. Almost as bad as us. Check out their board. As always, NJ, a word of warning. Nice to see some common sense from the last couple of posts Spurs are no mugs and I slightly detest the way some Jacks think we have a devine right to go there and beat them or even draw against them, I asked earlier to the doubters .when was the last time we won away at white heart lane in the league ? We have got better but so have everyone else/ Just like Laudrup said "we have to invest just to stand still in this league" harsh but true guys, some perspective is needed ,sometimes good teams make you look like your playing **** !!
For whats it's worth I thought we put up a reasonable performance at a ground where we have struggled in the past. We lost 3-1 in our first year in the Prem and last year we didn't compete and lost 1-0. This time I thought we did reasonably well, had our chances and were in the game until the last minute against a team that will be at least in the top six this year
A much better midfield would have been Leon with Canas alongside him with either Jonjo or Ki in front of them. Hopefully we won't see Jonathan De Usless starting for a while.

Draw away.... My point is obvious. Saying one thing after one game then completely contradicting yourself in the next. It's hysterical. Either the value of players is a factor or its not. Agree , I've always supported who ever wears the shirt but De Guzman I'm sorry to say just doesn't do enough for me or more importantly for the team ,he strikes me as just playing for him self
