I thought we played well, were competitive all over the park but just could not find a way to beat 12 men, I say 12 men but I must also include the two linesmen..total cnuts the lot of em! It says everything when the most mild manoured man in world football is on the touchline getting wound up by what is unfolding before his eyes! I have to say that it feels like the agenda has now changed and because we are no longer a love story to the media we are now becoming easy pickings for "homa" referee's .

What can I say about the game itself? well, Spurs played well and shaded the game. We also played well but were constantly getting shafted in every 50/50 and as the yellow cards were getting dished out to us early it basically meant we had to shadow players only and not challenge for the ball whatso ever.

If I was Laudrup I would be feeling extremely frustrated by that game, he picked the correct line up and got everything tactically correct. Its not the first time we have been stiffed at the lane though and I have to say it does leave me as a fan frustrated for our players.

We were equal in so many aspects of the game but we were nevergoing to be given a chance to compete on a level playing field. Some of the 50/50 calls were just total rubbish, it seemed that we couldn't touch them but they were allowed to push and obstruct us as much as they liked.

I was very pleased with the performance but I am totally gutted to get mugged by 14 players today!

It was great to see Vorm keep us in it and I thought Pablo and Canas were stand out, JDG had a good game too . Ben Davies was very poor first half but got a bit better in the 2nd half, I thought Laudrup was wrong to select him for this game, I thought Taylor would have been better defensively ,Ben didn't offer anything going forward so to me Taylor was the man today, hindsight is a wonderful thing though and there is not much between these two players.

We can take confidence from this game though, Pozuelo looks undroppable for me already and on that 20 min performance he deserves a start for the next premier league game,he was running rings around Spurs and im sure he will only get better.

onto the next game now, im so gutted for the lads but at the same time im really proud of the football and the effort put in, there was no way we were coming away with anything in that game today, not with that cnut of a referee anyway <ok>

    Thoughts ?

I thought JDG was crap as usual today. He's a reason why we were dominated in the centre of the park. Not good enough for the level we wish to aspire too. How Laudrup keeps picking this useless sod over Ki I'll never understand.

The point is this Norway, you play the game not the Officials, and if we had been at our best, then the officials woudn't get a look in, we have simply not clicked yet, and while the penalty was harsh, Spurs could have had a penalty from Shelvey in the first half if the ref was on his game!................<ok>

Norway, I agree with you, so frustrated with the display of the officials we never got anything from them. Yes, they should have had a first half penalty, but that doesn't mean to make up for his own incompetence that he award a pen for jack 5hit. Makes my blood boil!!!! <grr>:headbang::emoticon-0183-swear

Poz, to me looks such a creative player and now deserves a start, at the moment I don't think Laudrup knows his best team hence the tinkering. Pablo looked very good, still unsure by Canas, I'm reserving judgment on him at the moment as I was spending more time watching the Kardiff game.

No alarm bells yet from me, O'll only do that if we have no points after the Liverpool game. Hence I think it's so important that we get some points off WBA next week, as we will be playing catch up.

Valley me and you are starting to agree on too much, De Guzman does bugger all for me, what was his purpose today?

He strolled going forward (so not an attacking midfielder)
He strolled going backwards (so not a defensive midfielder)
He was utter ****e yet again. That game was screaming for a De Guzman off, Bony on Substitute, but was disappointed in ML's choice to take of Shelvey, yes Shelvey didn't have the best of games, but he was more involved than that utter piece of ****e wearing the number 20 shirt. Sorry, I don't like the guy, he is too damned lazy to be a member of this squad. The rest of the team tracks back, they push themselves, but this tosser just strolls, and it really winds me up.

Other than that, a little disappointed in some of the poor touches all over the pitch, some wayward passing, but on a positive note, the defence were better today than they were against Man Utd, albeit some poor lines were still evident, that thankfully Spurs couldn't take advantage of.

But I also agree with Norway, the ref was an utter ****** today.

    Positives
    + Vorm was outstanding today.
+ Chico and Williams are slowly starting to work great togehter again (as we saw last season).
+ Puzeulo was outstanding. Actually fighting for Routledge and Pablo to be first team wing. Fantastic speed and more direct then Pablo.

    Negatives
    - Our midfield was again bullied. As we saw many times last season.
    - Both Davies and Rangel played a very bad match.
    - Mistake to use Guzman. Should have used both Britton and Canas as defensive midfielders.Guzman is very poor against a strong phsyical (Tottenham) squad.
    - Routledge and Shelvey were average. Shelvey tend to panic under pressure.
    - When playing with no striker our offense is dead as a duck.

Well I believe that the referee sets the tone of the game and sometimes you can do nothing about how he does that. We wernt rash in any tackles we were competing for the ball but every time they competed equally it was ok when it was us it wasn't ok. Simple really.

As you all know I hardly ever complain about the referee's but today he was the difference. You say the first one was a penalty but was it really? id say it was 50/50 at best but the second one was a complete nonsense !!

The damage was done by then anyway, whenever we try and get stuck in agains these teams we get penalised harshly but other teams seem to get away with murder, think of the blatent red card and penalty against Man city at home against Michu, indeed think of the time when Michu was knocked out and the ref played on at the lane last season ?

How many times are we going to get shafted ?

My guess is until they see the club sent back to the small time, as long as us fans see it we can do something about it,at least at home, we need to make the Liberty a ****ing god awful place for referees's to visit, we need to go crazy on every kick against our lads we as fans need to step up and take the atmosphere up a few notches ! its clear to see we arnt anybodies favourite in this league, its clear to see that Swansea playing by the book and trying to be professional isn't worth a **** anymore, we as fans hate to see players diving all the time, we discourage our boys to do it, maybe we need to start doing the same thing because us being little old honest Swansea just means we get pissed on from a great height in these kinds of games .

I thought JDG was ok today, he got around the place and used the ball well, Shelvey IMO was the worst of the midfield 3 but because he is flavour of the month and JDG isn't then nobody seems to want to mention that <ok>

I take nothing away from Spurs though, overall they were the better team, though there wasn't much in it . They look pretty average without Gareth Bale though I have to say .

Agree with most of that Norway. I thought we would do well to scrap a draw out of this one but without Bale they do look less lethal. With just a little more confidence and gelling of our team and i think we will settle down and go on a winning run soon plus a bit of luck going our way for a change will be welcomed.

Norway, on teams visiting the Liberty, we do need to make it an intimidating atmosphere, get on the ref and way teams back. I hate to say this, but watching the Kardiff game the fans made it such a hostile place, and as you know big time charlie teams hate this.

We need to start doing this to sides.

Agree Shelvey had an off game today, but JDG plays like that everytime I see him in a Swans shirt. Don't know what it is about Jonjo, but he seems to go to pieces as soon as he gets booked.

"I thought we played well, were competitive all over the park"

Almost stopped reading at that point, sorry. You mercilessly criticised our players for the Man U defeat and we actually played better in that one.

We were AWFUL front to back today. No exceptions (apart form maybe Vorm). That is all.

We were doing it in our first season here but I have noticed the tension seems to have dropped off these last few months/seasons . There seems to be more of an acceptance of what is happening where as when im at games I always feel I can influence things by shouting like an idiot ! lol

We seem to have lost a bit of that IMO.

Anyway, the sooner we as fans realise this the better, we aint getting **** all off the refs by the looks of things so time for the supporters to step up and become the 12th man again.

Our home form will be critical this season and its going to be difficult with Europa league lumped on top, the players have given us everything these last few seasons and I strongly believe its time we stepped it up on the terraces <ok>

Spurs are very good at gamesmanship, they have been ever since Klinsmann entered the club, we can be proud of the team effort and be proud of the selection,it was the correct line up for this game regardless what we may all think that team was good enough for a point today it was only bias refereeing that made sure it didn't finish that way <ok>

We can be proud of the effort? Really? No effort, no endeavour.

Worst we've passed the ball in 3 years. Terrible.

    Discuss.
