we missed a chance to sign benteke, thats dead now and unfortunately strike partnerships are also pretty much dead so we can't have two top strikers unless we play a 352 or a 41212 yet we're a team with wingers and we would get destroyed with 3 at the back.

Would you have preferred Benteke to Bobby?

to be honest mate I wasn't keen on either at the time but now realise Benteke is a superb talent (not a one Season wonder) but it's too late to sign him.

Soldado looks to be a class act and am looking forward to seeing how he settles, yet there's always that worry about foreign players until we see them for a full season.

    Can I choose both?

I think with Benteke you know what you are getting, you get power, you get pace and you get goals. Nobody can argue with that.
With Soldado you get a bit more guile, less pace and power and still goals (seemingly), and better off the ball work that brings others into the game without him having to touch the ball. It would boil down to which type you prefer watching, I prefer watching Soldado but if they could be had for the same price then Benteke would be the better investment

  5. There's less worry with Spaniards, because there are so many of them over here.

Eastern Europeans are the ones that worry me. Very few of them seem to settle.

What do people think of a bid for Sneijder?? Apparently wants a move to the EPL, probably wouldn't cost more than 5m...

LOL, you might laugh, but money talks. I know it's very unlikely, but would Villa turn down £30m? it's all hypothetical of course.

Still, my point is that there's far better more in form players for £30m! :)

plus the fact Soldado has experience and seems fairly composed, in personality too, he doesn't strike me as someone that feels he has to prove himself, more someone that believes he will settle.

some of these foreign players just don't have the right character.

    30 million for Willian

    30 million for Benteke

No brainer but it would mean changing our system to play two up top so won't happen with Avb.

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adeybayor has denied that he will be joining Beşiktaş this summer.

"There have been clubs which have been in contact," Adebayor said.

"However, I don't think I'll be going to Turkey, there are clubs who want me however, what is important is whether I want to play for them or not.

"My priority is to play in England, I am happy here and in contact with clubs who want me. "

I will reveal who I'll be playing for in the near future."

Beşiktaş had been closely linked with Adebayor this summer, the club president Fikret Orman, director of football Önder Özen and manager Slaven Bilic had all confirmed that they had entered talks with Spurs over the striker.

The deal fell through after Beşiktaş failed to meet the Togolese international's wage demands.

Tottenham transfer listed Adebayor after a poor season - the Togolese international only scored five Premier League goals in 25 appearances last season.

Adebayor joined Tottenham on a €6.4 million transfer from Manchester City last season and still has two-years left on his contract

looks like Willian has all but signed for Chelsea. I hope we're invoicing him/his agents for the travel costs and our staff's time!

    Good luck Willian.

I guess that writes of Marin ever playing for Chelsea again.

"And of course the mid 90s were very different to now. Back then foreign matches on TV were rare"

Marin would have been good at Spurs (a better Niko) .
But they won't sell to their PL rivals (especially when they'll get Levyed) .

telegraph reporting deal has been agreed for that Romanian defender, I'm sure we will remember his name after 38 games.

he is playing for Steaua in their champions league playoff then documents be signed to complete move.
