Do Arsenal really need Lamela? Surely they have enough creative midfielders? They need CBs and at least another striker, I would have thought.

I've got some confidence in Baldini. I'm not sure we'll get Lamela, and time is running down, but Soldado was our third choice (after Villa and Bentecke). If we miss out on somebody, Baldini seems to always have someone just as good lined up.
If we lost willian and lamela to our 2 biggest rivals and then lost bale too it would undo all the good work thus far
...plus, we don't know how many of these stories are smoke-screens put out by the club to the press in order to throw rivals off the scent as to whom we are really after. Okay, so it went wrong with Willian, but I guess that Levy cannot be blamed for failing to appreciate just how much of a **** Mad Dog was going to be, or just how great a mercenary Willain is.

Michael Owen mentions in his Torygraph column that Factitious Madrid took good care of him when he signed - by sticking him in a businessman's hotel for five months because they didn't sort out a house for him and his family.
According to someone on spurscommunity, Chiriches is going to be a guest at our game tomorrow. ------------------ I've added Falque going out on loan as it's official now. People claiming to be ITK on Lamela say it'll be wrapped up on Monday and that tomorrow will be his last game for Roma. I don't know what to think anymore, I'm suddenly very apprehensive having seen the debacle with Willian. I do think we should go for Eriksen - he may not be an improvement at the mo but he is only 21. I just can't see Siggurdson settling into the CAM role well enough for us. I'd be happy for us not to sign Eriksen if we can get Holtby playing well though. I've no idea what we do for LB though now. Coentrao apparently wanted to double his wages as part of the move to us (supposedly on £40k a week at Real and he wanted £80k with us). I believe that is the sticking point at the moment. I saw someone mention Luke Shaw a few pages back - he's a quoted Chelsea fan and he's only just signed a new contract with Saints (not that contracts mean anything these days). We have to get Lamela in - for some reason the atmosphere around our transfer dealings has gone very negative since the Willian adventure despite the fact that we've still had our best Summer (so far) for years.
