80% fit Sturridge, two great goals. His today was beautiful, such great awareness and that finish with his weaker foot was genius. He should be wearing the number nine shirt.

Apart from the fact his goal was with his left foot (his stronger one), and a load of people would be pissed if he changed shirt number after buying shirts with his current number on it, I agree with this post <whistle>

Both Aspas and Sturridge are left footed. Lefty strike partnership.

Gerrard was everywhere today, though it did concern me how we lost complete control of the game..

Was happy with the performance of our back 4 though, I would say back 5 but I don't include Johnson in that.

I'd agree with that, what the **** has happened to Johnson's first touch? Woeful.

Vast majority of players use the outside of their strong foot in situations like that...

Mostly because most players can't fooking use their other one <doh>

I think a lot of teams will struggle against Villa this year. They don't have the greatest of squads, but the front 3 can cause real damage to most defences.
The fact they beat Arsenal & should have taken a point against Chelsea show they are no pushovers. To take 3 points in our first away game is encouraging.

Yes the performance wasn't brilliant in the 2nd half, but Villa couldn't have got much worse from the 1st and had nothing to lose to just go out and give it everything.

Thought the whole team were good without being spectacular. 7 out of 10's <ok>

Agree with that, but Johnson was crap and Wisdom/Kelly should be considered to start games at RB soon if he can't step it up again.

Migs - 8 Couple of great saves, rescued 2 points
Johnson - 4 Crap going forward, nothing noticeable in defence
    Toure - 8 Solid
Agger - 7 Solid game, but looked weak at times
Enricky - 7.5 Did well defensively, created the goal and looked good going forward.
Hendo - 7 Intercepted and pressurised players
Gerrard - 7 Sloppy at times, but got stuck in
Lucas - 6/7 He had some good tackles, but was also sloppy in possession
    Aspas - 7 Worked hard
Sturridge - 8 Great goal, also tracked back well
Coutinho - 7 Was marked tight, but still showed glimpses of his genius

    Subs:

Cissoko - 7 Ran the ball down the wing well, slowed the game down
Allen- 5 Didn't do much in his 7 minutes except lose the ball

Bit harsh to say he only lost the ball.

    He fell over to. <whistle>
