Bringing the discussion back to Eriksen. For £10mill odd it looks like a Spurs type signing and I'm all for it. We've had our fun with the huge money signing of Soldado and potentially Lamela joining for a similar fee but I think if we're going to progress we need to keep in mind what's worked for us so far and that's getting players who are available at a good price and for whatever reason aren't fancied by the very top teams. With Bale possibly going then we could move to having a couple of options as proper number 10s in Holtby and Eriksen challenging for that role with Sigurdsson also and option and Townsend, Lennon, Chadli and Lamela(hopefully!), with Sigurdsson as an emergency option.

As I said before that seems very, very strong to me.

If we sign Eriksen, someone's got to go. There's too much competition for places, IMO. If we were to sell Sig, it'd pretty much pay for Eriksen, I expect. I also don't think it'd sit too well with Holtby or Sig if he was to come in. Seeing as Sig nearly left for reading in Jan and holtby was only signed 6 months ago, Sig would have to be the likely candidate.

 

But Siggy is home grown, we would be on the cusp if we lost 2 home grown (Bale and Siggy). We need an overseas player to go if we bring another overseas player in really

Currently we have 9 homegrown I think? If 2 go, we would only be able to bring one overseas player in.

 

Interesting SD. With that in mind, plus the other targets we're looking at, I think we can write Eriksen off.

Edit: are you sure that's right SD? The clubs around us seem to have a lot of foreigners....

 

If it helps, someone should tell his agent Soren Lerby that he's my scout for Germany and Scandinavia on Football Manager.
