The Reds team in full is: Mignolet, Enrique, Agger, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Aspas, Coutinho, Sturridge. Substitutes: Jones, Alberto, Cissokho, Allen, Borini, Sterling, Wisdom.
Nice to see Aly isnt being chucked straight in and good to see consistancy in the team. Hope we can now see consistancy with results. Will be a very happy man if we are on 6 points later. But far from being a given, I have a feeling this is going to be a hard game. Glad that they have had two hard games already this week though
yeah... no way to fix defensive issues so that's our best possible line up.... can't ask for more really. they now need to work hard and then whatever happen happens. as long as they look like they work hard and give their all what else can you ask for....
Substitutes: Jones, Alberto, Cissokho, Allen, Borini, Sterling, Wisdom. I think that is a pretty good bench actually. Only thing is, apart from maybe Sterling (and that would be against sides willing to attack) it lacks a game changer should we be struggling.
All round the fields of Anfield Road Where once we watched the king Kenny play, and could he play, Stevie Heighway on the wing We had dreams and songs to sing Of the glory round the fields of Anfield Road
Game changer is the whole point in my opinion. If things aren't working who is going to come on and bang one in? As you have said Sterling on his day yes, and same with Alberto. Jones - bang average replacement Alberto - potential but not exactly quality to bring on (may change) Cissokho - not seen a lot of him tbh Allen - got a lot to prove but hasn't done it yet Borini - done nothing for us but has played well of late Sterling - good player if a bit of a chav. Compare that to Chelsea, United, City, Spurs. We have got to displace one of them somehow. And then there is Arsenal. We do need a couple of quality players first imo.
And that is why those teams are ahead of us! Arsenal have a better first eleven than us but not much else
Skrtel's completely out of favour then, not even making the bench. No Ibe there either which is a shame as he really has the ability to change up a game with his pace and movement Strong first XI though, hopefully they can get the job done
right heres a question IS SKERTL STILL INJURED??? he should be back on the bench by now so is a sale imminent?
Fair enough. My response was looking at it compared to our bench of the last two seasons, it is better IMO.
Wouldn't go that far...they have a few players in positions who are better than ours, but not exactly better overall
