I like him and just watched him on QPR player ... I have to say really nice bloke. He will i feel become an important part of our team as he grows with it ... His role is very important if we are to release Faurlin to become more creative I take my hat to Harold for this signing as it's looking good IMO.
Dave, what's your opinion on him and Barton ?? Reckon they've really made it all up and their tiff from a few years back is water under the bridge ?? Or you reckon it's all just for show and simmering under table, ready to blow any minute ??
I've felt nervous with him on the pitch so far. He takes too much time on the ball and hesitates. That doesn't mean I think he's a bad player. I just think he needs to up his game and I think he'll grow in confidence. But I'd rather see Faurlin get his place in the team.
I think he will grow that's how i see it ... he isn't as good as many but plays that holding role every well. I think Barton is seriously having a good look at himself and has been affected by the soul of QPR. If he stays then who can say what will happen but he is playing his best football in a Rangers shirt IMO. He is a Father and has lived in France that's enough to change anyone
Similar things were said about Derry when he joined and he didn't do too badly did he? There is always a place for an enforcer.
But he won't be any use if he can't play. Nobody cares if he's a nice bloke prancing around the Paddock like a pansy. We need them to play tough and get us wins.
Something we lacked last year & may not be an exciting signing but the sort we're likely to need to helpget us out of the Championship.
But it's in one of the stanzas of The Lords Prayer aka Kevin Gallen's Magic Hat song. 'He's such a lovely chap!' Thus clearly proving that being a nice bloke / lovely chap is indeed a prerequisite of a QPR player espoused by the supporters.
All I have seen so far is a hesitant 3rd rate enforcer, who gets caught in possession and has very limited passing ability. I hope he can grow into the player you suggest Dave.
Have to say I saw him at Southend in the pre-season game and he looked very good. Hasnt played to those standards in the league yet, but im sure he will come good. I do think he will prove to be a good signing for us. Although, by the sounds of Jenas on the Fantasy Football Club programme last night Barton and Henry havent totally made friends yet! He didnt say much about their relationship, but did say they wont be going out for dinner anytime soon!
Haha, I only watched it because I knew Jenas was on it beforehand (honest!)! Its a bit boring to be honest!
Which idiot wrote that? In the first half I thought he was our best player, unfortunately he faded after half time at the time when our passing fell apart. They seemed to press us much harder in the second half which possibly explains both.
You're right, we lost the midfield soon after we took the lead. Both Barton and Henry being on bookings didn't help. Their sub came on and played in "the hole", causing us a lot of problems. Bringing on Jenas plugged the gap.
I've not change mine either mate, but credit where it's due; there is more hope than I thought though.
