Anybody tell me why we didn't get a penalty before the red card incident? It looked like Turner was being pushed for about ten yards across the box.
True, but even in that first twenty Garrido and Tettey were waitering the ball to Hull with garnishings. I don't think we're out of it at all, but the players really need to step up now.
Garrido took 2 diabolically tame free-kicks earlier on, haven't we got a better candidate like Redmond?
I don't really understand why we are using such physical midfielders yet don't seem to be closing down at all. It's not logical.
We are actually playing OK, just rushing things when it's not necessary. If we are a bit more measured we can win this.
think we'll win from here. 2-1 or 3-1. Can't see us playing so lazily second half, and hull legs will get tired.
Hull didn't really look that threatening going forwards either and, the penalty aside, we created the better chances. I think a lot of the sloppiness has stemmed from the refereeing which has been bizarre at times and has clearly ruffled a few of our player's feathers. Hopefully we'll come out a little more composed second half and create some more chances.
Garrido for Olsson will be definite but I think Elmander will come on for a midfielder, rather then Hughton changing the midfield system.
Game like this desperately needs someone like fox on for us to just do what huddlestone has done with the ball for them. Don't need 3 physical central midfielders on and one on the right... just doesn't work.
I would put Wes on for Tettey and shift Fer deeper, although it'll probably be Elmander who comes one instead. I would put Olsson on, I think pace down that left channel would not go a miss and Garrido isn't having his best game. I would put Snod on for Howson as well but 3 subs is pushing it with Hughton in.
