Magic City compensation for Havana Cooler not winning at York, course and distance winners at Goodwood can rarely be discounted.

Just think if Pythag was in the Hannon yard and Magic City wasn't. Some riding by Hughes on MC once more. I always said he was a star of a horse. (one for RV)

First one in my Lucky 31 Magic City, now for Flying Doctor at Cartmel - money is down big style, hoping for a massive run.

Still here, I am going to pass it to him at Cheltenham/elsewhere, when we meet up next.... (partly because I am a useless sod and keep forgetting to post it)

Like the mug punter I am I've lumped on Ted Veale for the Ebor - very impressed with him the other day (little more than a steady piece of work) and Tony Martin is still king of the plots.

I have to say that I thought that Richard Hughes was too far back on Magic City and it looked like he was going to stay on the rail and hope for a gap. Then he switched outside, came with a wet sail and won quite readily. I finally found a winner in August – but Hughes at Goodwood in a big field is not the recipe that I expected!

NassauBoard, that Pythagorean is in the clutches of the handicapper. It keeps running places and going up a couple of pounds. Last time it was beaten a nose and went up 4lbs. It was a beaten favourite on Eclipse day at Sandown but went up the handicap for running a place.
