-Britain/France - previous colonial interests in the region. Also paying lip service to Saudi intentions as they have become the main source of exports for the British and Fench defence industries. What do "Previous Colonial Interests" have to do with anything? It's funny I mentioned Mugabe because that appears to be his stock defence of every appalling for anything his Government has done. Blame Britain.
And a true reflection of Western media paying lipservice. We have this article from the BBC about 12 rebels arrested in Turkey http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22720647 But the glaring omission is what they were arrested for http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/article3779257.ece The times called them "chemical materials" http://www.trust.org/item/20130530185614-yzdp2 More commonly known as Sarin .... whoops
Alot of it comes from bitterness at Nationalised industries once their colonial reach in the region ended. It was more directed at the French as they seem to have a perverse willingness to get involved militarily in previous colonies e.g. Mali, Algeria, Ivory Coast. Call it maintaining a sphere of influence
Oh a Rally, really? What about the Nuremeburg rally, I hear that was very popular. That's me convinced, he's obviously an all round good egg and everyone in the West has it wrong.
Nato also announced that the only chemical weapons attacks there have been in Syria were by the rebels : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-22424188 Within days the americans were announcing that they were stepping their involvement due to Assad using chemical weapons. It's an absolute farce.
That sounds all very well and good Jacky but I don't buy it. Maybe the French feel some obligation towards Syria, but to suggest they are looking for an excuse to get involved in military shenannigans in a foreign country - which would benefit them not very much at all - because of some historic attachment, is not something i'm going to believe. They''d be as well trying to invade Algeria.
what's your point there then ? are you now saying that the Syrian people support Assad but that you don't care because you think he's bad ? The Nazis were planning world domination based on their principles of them being a superior race. The Assad government is trying to stop his country getting blown apart by jihadist invaders and to keep his country intact, secular and moderate. Slight difference
In case there is any doubt I don't think Britain should do anything about Syria apart from continuing to talk to them and maybe further sanctions. We should not risk any British lives to sort out the mess, that should be the responsibilty of Syria and it's neighbours. Let Turkey and the rest sort it out, the lives of UK service personel should not be gambled with.
Where did say that? I said he had no mandate to rule as he is unelected. I'm have no interest in "Opinions" or "Surveys" regarding his popularity.
And you think your view is more important than the opinion of millions of Syrians do you ? This conversation is a waste of time.
I must admit to being fairly sceptical about the level of support he is said to enjoy. Different organisations tell you different things to suit their own ends so you never really know the truth and, sorry to say, I'd be a tad suspicious about the level of transparency in their election process..
Is there anything that could be presented that will make you buy it, no I dont think so. If you truly think they wish to get involved on humanitarian grounds I can only assume you have a very naive view of the world. It is exactly the same as Libya, make up lies about killing of civilians with MiGs, viagra fuelled rape sprees, african mercenaries (all which have transpired to be false) while ignoring the ethnic cleansing, war crimes, chemical attacks (yes they were used against Bani Walid) by our "good guys". Lets remember the first people to die in both conflicts were members of the Security forces (Benghazi barracks in Libya, Homs in Syria), how is that for peaceful protests. Im away to make use of my Saturday, have fun
You've already shown me why you are not worth listening to, I already said listening to any more of your tripe would be a waste of time, all you've shown to me with your "agenda" and Western propaganda pish, is that you are just another another TFWNN type. I was bored with you 2 hours ago and you are not getting any less boring with the passing minutes.
You still think the Twin Towers was an inside job jacky, despite all the evidence to the contrary, so I don't think you are in a position to make that statement. Have you got a mirror at home?
