Red Bull and Merc nailed the timing at the end there. Bit sad not to see Di Resta on pole, if anything because it would have made the start very interesting, but still great session. Happy with Jenson in sixth.
I preferred the more mixed top 10 we had before the rain receded. The Red Bulls will run away with it if it is dry but great work from Hamilton to get pole again
Well we all thought Mercs race pace would be terrible in Hungary too. I reckon they've been sandbagging in practice and Hamilton lost a lot of time in the final sector of his pole lap by catching Vettel otherwise he'd have been half a second faster easily.
If Alonso didn't make a mistake on his first lap (which Sky Italy say was an off-camera spin in the final sector), he might have crossed the line with a second remaining. Or he might have just missed it.
You really have to hand it to Hamilton... He struggled all weekend (or so it seemed) yet nailed it right at the end. He really nailed that middle sector, that's what gave him the extra time. He held his head...I think that was a mature drive.. Good run from Vettel, Webber and Rosberg. I am a bit sorry for Di Resta...I am sure he thought he had it... I really thought he had it too. But congrats to Lewis. Lets see what happens tomorrow.
That's true, I think he was running really close behind Vettel and I was wondering what would happen if Vettel makes a mistake in one of those corners, that would have been it for Hamilton. He would have had to back off and he was going hard in the middle sector. If Lewis gets a good clean start I am not too sure if it will be that easy for Vettel. I think we should also watch out for Rosberg trying to jump both Webber and Vettel at the start. Button is also in with a chance. By the way, how many stops do you think they will do tomorrow? I heard Ross saying mercedes were overheating the tyres before now it looks like they gone too far the other way...do you think that he meant they went overboard when they solved the tyre issue? If so it will take longer to get the heat into the tyres.
This is the interesting part now guys.....What will happen to Webber this time? He is on the second row... Will he have one of those mysterious slow starts or will he be allowed to race Vettel? Or will he be under heavy orders to follow his team mate? That will be interesting.
So it's him when the team gets a right call but it's the team if it's a bad one. Sounds like a spoiled prick to me. I hope he gets Grosjean'd with Vettel tomorrow
Yeah.. I dint particularly like the " it was all me" comment. I am sure the team wasn't too thrilled about that comment. Di Resta, remember those guys could make u lose a nut any time, don't be so arrogant..you are a good driver, but you need to give the team credit.
Yeah.. I can just see you in front of that television tomorrow jumping and shouting "Go Lewis! go Lewis!...lol
