Too early for us I think, especially if we are without Davies, Dyer and Gerry.
A draw if luck is on our side - but could be another thumping

this should be one of our target games to get something from this season which will be a slight step up from last season where it was all about keeping the score down. Arsenal and liverpool should be targets for the season also. Man utd, man city and chelsea are the only clubs that are stronger than us where it will be very hard to get anything. So as far as i'm concerned there are just 3 clubs that we will struggle against and the rest are targets where we have a very good chance of points this season...

With Vorm playing midweek we could well see Tremell having a run out at The Lane. For me Ben gets the nod over Taylor, while Canas would be used to add a bit of steel De Guzman brought back in after his recent injury to add a bit of composure with the instruction to get in the opponents faces (for a change!) <ok>.

-------------Tremmel--------------------
Rangel – Chico –Williams – Davies
--------------Canas-------------------------
Hernandez – De Guzman - Shelvey –
------------Michu------------------------
--------------Bony

Subs: Leon, Pozuelo, Vorm, Amat,Taylor, Routledge

If we give the ball away like we did on Thursday Spurs murder us! I hope we play taylor instead of Ben as I think a solid defensive performance is needed, I would also drop Shelvey for this one, hseen the whole game on Thursday we cant have another game where so much ball is wasted with long passes that are just not needed. Jonjo will come good but is wasteful and aginpurs that will put un due pressure on the back four.

Rangel needs to step up his play as well, he has IMO been poor for the last few games and the Romainian player(number 7) had rangel in his pocket for 90% of the game,he needs to buck his ideas up,not sure if he has lost half a yard of pace but hs persistant fouling needs to stop.

Spurs have problems of their own so there may be balance between the two teams, I honestly expect tthat spurs will win this match but I would sette atas long as our performance levels are goos and we cut out the stupid defensive errors! I have no problem with us losing to anybody but it does my head in when our boys just don't do themselves justice !

I would love a point from this game, they haven't blown us away in the last few meetings but neither did Man utd !

A tight performance with all 11 players working together and we can get something, spurs are clear favourites to win for me though1

c'mon the Swans !!

Hehe, drew a smile from me too. Don't get me wrong you can beat most on your day, particularly at home, but it'd be a surprise if you beat us and that's because we're the better side and playing at home. It wouldn't be a huge surprise as you're capable of playing very good football and we're missing the best player in the league.

Anyway, enjoy the game tomorrow. Hope you won't enjoy it too much though :)

I'd have to add Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool to that list but I can see where you're coming from and we are capable of taking points from these teams, if we have a good day

On Thursday's performance and previous recent cameos there is no way Taylor be considered more effective in defence than BD. We need to be patient and intelligent.

The rest I agree with though. I think Jonjo is preferred by the fans who quietly hope we start playing like Stoke.

Agree, Ben is way ahead of Taylor. The amount of times Neil kept passing backwards Thursday night really pissed me off.

Most likely squad against Tottenham. Now without Bale.

But as I see it, there is great chance that Laudrup will choose both Canas and Britton (as defensive midfielders) in an away game against Tottenham. He might sacrifices Bony. Then it will look something like this

Not for me sorry, while Taylor is still getting up to speed he knows how to defend much better than Ben, Taylor also uses his body well to lever a jumping player out of the path of the header, Ben is a little bit green in this area, believing that he can out jump or compete fairly for a header most of the time, while ben does much better going forward I believe Taylor will be a better option for this game, we wlll need more defensive craft than attacking runs IMO.

I have to also add that Spurs for me are nailed on top 4 regardless of Bale leaving. They have a strong squad and their options from the bench look a bit scary to me !

I will never forgive the ****ers for selling Caulker to Cardiff though! what were they thinking ?? :)

Jonjo will play, maybe for an hour.
Bony more likely to be rested for Romania.
Hope JS plays v Petrolul especially if Dyer is fit, his long cross field balls will work against a weaker team and Dyer's pace will be really effective.

....<laugh>

I did think that when I saw his defensive performance against West Ham ! rabbit in the headlights sprang to mind :)
Still, would have been a great developing talent for us.

Lets hope his lifestyle rumours are true .

According to my TV guide there's no MOTD2 on Sunday night. Anyone else noticed? The cynic in me says that it's because two Welsh teams are involved on Sunday.

On the subject of our game, whilst I don't expect us to win, some of the newspaper and pundit predictions are downright insulting. Many are predicting Spurs 3-0: score predictions are usually conservative, so they are expecting us to get an almighty hammering.

I know Spurs have bought well but so have we and they have lost Bale. Games between us have been fairly close to date. Last season at the Liberty, Spurs were hanging on like grim death for the last 30 minutes and were allowed to kick anything that moved thanks to a benevolent and, imo, a totally rubbish and biased referee. Even the neutral commentators couldn't understand why a number of their players weren't booked. WE know why, don't we?

Nonetheless, my head tells me that Spurs will win this but I don't think that hopes of a draw are beyond the realms of possibility. I wish for two things. First, a decent unbiased set of officials; secondly, if they play, I hope that JJ, Canas, Chico and Bony will dish out some grief of their own... if it's called for. Goose, gander and all that........

I'm fearful of a drubbing here. I think we will do the same as last year and play for a draw until they score. Then we'll just try to keep the score down. No chance of anything says my head but hope I'm so very wrong.

I bet Spurs and Man City fans are cheesed off as well Ivor. We are all deemed not worthy!

Regarding Spurs, they were vitery cynical on their last visit to the Liberty . Very unSpurslike.
