true, that's the worst part of military conflict. beyond tragic. but war crimes is something different altogether
Right. Depends on what 'team' you are on. When it happens to 'them' it is accidents and collateral damage. When it happens to us, it is terrorism and war crimes.
lets be clear, no on said the actual event was a war crime What IS a war crime is that a pilot can justify destroying a whole building because one armed man walked into he front door when other parts of that building house women and children who have nothing to do with that guy carrying the weapon, who might I add has not even shown to be doing anything other than carrying an AK over his shoulder. Rules of engagement can be war crimes and in that case they are also, another rule of engagement used by US forces in Iraq. This is from ex military personnel btw. If a roadside bomb goes off, kill everyone on the street immediately. That is also a war crime to carry out such acts. Both cases are indefensible and have resulted in thousands of civilian deaths. that is just two of the rules of engagement that treat civilian lives like they are nothing because they are not American. never mind David Steele and Dick Cheney and the torture!!
The US government, that knows about these events, outlines these rules of engagements from top brass and tries to suppress reports of these violations of the Geneva Conventions is committing war crimes.
