That foto of the old would have been taken from just about the very spot i would stand when i first started going to the den then in later years i would stand in the half way terraces
That photo's taken from the left of the little corner where I used to stand, getting glared at by Mighty and his mob who would throw us a few bob to buy a drink on the way home.
Chesh morning mate wrong way round mukka its taken from the cold blow lane end the away little corner is top left of pic. what you are seeing is not the players tunnel just an exit tunnel (for the lucky ones who survived that long)
**** off im not that old Catford yes in them days you stood as much chance of getting in a punch up at Catford Dogs as you did the Den
Remember a big tunnel in the end opposite, think the last time I went was Millwalls promotion year 87-88 ? we lost.Police took video of every fan as you came into the away end.No trouble but the atmosphere was pure evil.
The trouble at some games in them days was unbelievable, remember getting petrol bombs thrown at us at Wolves missed everyone just smashed in the road.Another time I had to take some darts off a m8 of mine who was going to throw them at Forest fans in the ground.Late 70's.
The next season we won the league, passed you on your way down and were champions of England 2 years later. The good old days.
i remember one christmas standing in C.B.L. playing against Villa and Villa scored and a guy standing infront of me cheered only for about half a second but that was enough. he was wearing a new sheepskin coat obvious chrissy present next minute him and the coat were in flames.
I know a Leeds fan who came with me to the Den once and sat on his own in the C.B.L. and Leeds scored and won'
near riots 4 or 5 times a season, and there was no such thing as a safe ground you could get done over anywhere.I came close to getting killed at Bolton of all places.Truck nearly hit me after getting knocked into the road by 6 Bolton fans who set upon me. They **** themselves pulled me back onto the pavement and walked off.Took me a few seconds to realise why they had stopped.
