I guess we'll be seeing the same line up that we had against Palace, perhaps with Sigurdsson replaced by Capoue or Townsend. I'd go for: Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Capoue, Dembele; Lennon, Paulinho, Chadli; Soldado. It's a real shame to me that our experiment with Dembele playing further forward failed so badly, it could've been a great option for us to have and to be honest I still don't know why Dembele didn't do better but Paulinho's played there before for Cortinthians I understand and it'll be intersting to see him tried there for us.
I'd like to see: Lloris Walker Verts Dawson Rose Capoue Dembele Townsend Paulinho Chadli Soldado Great balance in that side. We can also switch up Chadli and Townsend if cutting in doesn't work. There's no way Townsend can be dropped, IMO. - His performance was everything you can ask of from someone who's trying to cement a place, even if the oppostion on Thursday weren't very good. He did everything he needed to do, and very well. If he is dropped, he's got every right to question his future before deadline day. Lennon is going to have to knuckle down with Andros pushing him like this. -It's great to be in this position and have genuine competition for places. For too long, certain players have been able to chill out and rest on their laurels. Not anymore. 2 or 3 more additions and the whole squad is gonna have to be on their toes! exciting times.
Fair enough, I just think Lennon's a bit more steady for us and I believe their left back, Davies, is right footed so cutting inside might not have the same effect for Townsend.
yeah, it's a tough call. But in that case, Nacer shouldn't start. - But then again, we had so much more balance when he came on for Sig on Thursday. Tough decisions.
A favour please guys! I'm after a list of every Swansea City Player of the Year Winner since they were first given out. These awards are usually organised by the official supports club. I'd like to add this page to my web site. Here's one I've already published for Chelsea as an example... Chelsea FC Player of the Year 1967 - 2013 ...Many thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Lennon is still first choice, bit surprised some are eager to see him dropped as he's still a threat and works hard for the team. Townsend should be introduced via the bench if Lennon is struggling and then it's up to Andros to take his chance. I know we need more goals from the wing and more assists yet we can't underestimate how much work Lennon does,.
Townsend will have another chance to terrorize the Dinamo defense next week, too. Rotation and competition.
Great thread and thanks for the one on our board too. As glam has said most Swans fans are pessimistic about this one, me included. We've got a ridiculously tough start to the League (though Laudrup hasn't whinged about it like Moyes) and I'll be glad to get this out of the way. We're capable of beating anyone of course but top 6 teams need an off day. As always hopeful of a Swans win but think you'll do it 2-0.
Another reason I like Swansea - they're fans are seemingly as pessimistic as us despite both teams pumping 5 into the little net thing in midweek
Great minds think a like. Sigg adds nothing, Lennon not productive enough so Andros deserves ago. Dembele to prove he is worth anything like 15 million before hopefully better new additions arrive and take his place if he can't perform at a higher level.
Although Dembele could do better, at least he's not bad. He's still a great ball winner and retains possession very well. We'd soon miss him if he wasn't in the team. Many moaned about him last season, but when we were without him due to his hip injury, a lot of people were begging for his return.
Like dembele but the way capoue and Paul have started I wouldn't be surprised if we go with Paul-cap-dro sometimes.
I agree. Had Lennon have done a little bit better with his final ball last Sunday then I think we'd all be raving about him again as everything else was excellent in his performance. Still, it's a big problem that he does seem to struggle with the final ball so often though. I get the feeling that once he gets an understanding about where Soldado, Chadli and Paulinho want the ball crossed to we'll see him being appreciated by our fans again. It's Lennon's place to lose but Townsend will get chances and if he shows us he can put in performances, like Thursday's game, against Premier League sides then he'll find himself as the main man soon enough.
