Would be funny if Spurs Physio had done a <standard> and overlooked
    some medical condition Willian has.

:emoticon-0102-bigsm Maybe he'll prove to castrate the chavs attacking play.

At this point I think we could've done with his services more than you as we're still a bit light, our Brendan seemed a touch annoyed yesterday by the failure to bring anyone of note into the squad. For you there's a lot riding on Ronaldo Mark II though, same with us and our cannibal/mental person.

    Hahahah

I actually disagree on the first point. You have Coutinho who looked top notch in the opening match and is just the sort of player we are looking for imo. Willy plays the same role, if not in the same way.

Best thing Levy can do is email a link of Mourinho's interview to Bale.

That is not a surprise at all and it makes me question the character or judgement of the player being in the inner circle of dudes like that. Obviously, and despite his talent, Wills was prepared to loiter in the Siberian leagues with a fat pay cheque rather than going to play a better standard of football elsewhere, so that's another red flag for me.

    Again, excellent from Sandro!

Can you imagine if Chelsea had hijacked such a deal when a player was signing for Man U, what an outcry there would be! Doesn't matter if it would happen or not, the principle should be the same. Anyway, as previously said I think he'll be of less use to them than us (or Liverpool). However, apparently Chelsea was his boyhood club or something.

I assume from Willian's tweet that's Junior Mendonza, whoever he is.
Seems that he's also represented by the Fairplay Sports Group, rather ironically, who also represent Azpilicueta and Chalobah, their only other English-based players.
Think we've been pissed about on this one pretty badly. All roads appear to lead to Chelsea.

Coutinho could be a world beater and he has looked brilliant for us so far, he's skillful, got great awareness and has the heart too but we could be in a situation where we start to rely on him too much to create for us, happened a bit with Sterling's purple patch last season, although Coutinho is ten times the player he is currently and also doesn't beat up his girlfriends or have a host of mini-mes all over the country to distract him.

Talking about over-reliance I think you'll be better off without Bale long term as there's a danger of focussing too much on the central star player. I think we're developing a team ethos and obviously our star man has disrupted that in a more violent way than Bale, but without him you'll have the same thing, that sense of togetherness and a particular style of play, only at the moment on a higher level.

  13. I agree up to a point, DD.

But if Bale were to stay, he'd find that the focus has already shifted away from him to the team. No way would he now dominated in our current squad, which is far more balanced than it has been for a very long time.

If he falls out with Sandro and Paulinho as a result of this - which one would hope would be the case - it could effect his brazil career as well.

The BBC have reported that Chelsea have made enquiries about Willian in each window for the last few seasons, yes. But I think Spurs fans probably feel aggrieved that they've ultimately ended up being treated as a negotiation tool rather than a viable and successful football club by a user(s), especially since the player pretty much had the pen nib on the contract until last night.

    Yeah, nailed it.
Reports are he was in the office to sign the contract when the Chelsea bid came in and that Spurs even had his passport for sorting out a work permit

That's interesting. He seems to have developed more of an ego recently so I wonder if you hang onto him whether all this will affect his attitude. Guess you'll see if he's a team player or not and whether he's able to adapt his fast attacking runs into a new way of playing.

I think we have to be close to signing another one. I can't see the Bale news breaking for real (pun intended) without us having some counter-news surely? The prices of all "Bale replacements" will go through the roof as soon as it does so i'm hoping and guessing its Lamela.
Tonight maybe? We don't really announce stuff in the eve do we? So tomorrow?
