He always was rated higher than Wiltshire when he was coming through to the first team. Looks like he's finally got over the mental barrier of his broken leg/ankle, and I expect him to have a cracking season for you and possibly outshine Wiltshire <ok>

Everyone has stopped making fun of Aaron Ramsey, haven't they?

I'd add that he was rightly criticised when he was playing awful. Now, he's rightly praised for playing well. The only people with a problem are those who can't stand any of our players being criticised at any time.... but they can just **** off.

Fair play to Ramsey. I thought he'd come good when he kept plugging away despite the audible groans when things were really tough. That showed he had character, others would have wilted in the same situation. Used to criticise him for being too slow, and too slow to release the ball, but Ramsey's progress has been like a paced marathon run. Atm, he seems to be getting better and better all the time.

Well I stood by Ramsey for a long time, but even my support for him wavered at times, especially after that Bradford game, but I always maintained that he had the talent to be a quality CM player for us.

That's the kind of impression I get. He needs to focus on picking up his level and staying there if he intends to be in the starting 11 more regularly.

Ramsey was good for you at points last season too...I remember commenting on one of your threads last season that Ramsey is taking time to get over his busted leg and how it reminded me of Bale getting over his year out with injury...it took Bale about 18 months to get his confidence back before he proved what a good player he was.
Ramsey was good before the leg break and is getting better as time goes on...patience is sometimes required but football and todays world are very short of patience...

(you'd never guess I was an old git from this would you????) <laugh>

It's not often you see a spud talking sense, but this is a rare example.

Yes, Ramsey did play poorly at times and was really frustrating to watch, but the critcism went too far and was unjustified at times.

When he came back from his leg break he was understandably off the pace, not match fit, lacking experience, lost confidence etc. But slowly and surely he got his head down and got on with it. Then the season after when we lost Cesc and Nasri, he was thrust into the midfield, playing CM, LW and even on the right a couple of times if I remember correctly. It was the same season that Arteta, Mertesacker, Santos etc came in and we basically had half a new team. Ramsey was carrying the weight of the midfield that season and whilst some of his performances were crap, he was gradually getting better and better. Then last season, he really started to get back to his best, the promise that he showed when we first signed him and he became a key figure in our midfield. Now he has established himself and he's looking like he's going to have a big season for us.

The problem I had, was not people criticising him when he had a bad game, but the inability to see when he played well.Views became so entrenched that people just couldn't get beyond the mantra that 'Ramsey is crap'. I think that is starting to wane now, not before time too, because the lad has worked really hard to get back to his best and he deserves a lot of credit for doing so, despite some of the unnecessary vitriol that was fired at him.

Given that people actually disagreed with two of the numbered points earlier in wanting to sell him and still making fun of him saying people die when he scores, I think its you that needs to **** off.

You need to look up the meaning of the word criticism.

    Ramsey has come full circle.

He is now an excellent squad player in my eyes, and a decent starting option for the first XI.

Its the same people who said Ramsey was crap who said Giroud is good.

    Wrong on both counts.

Ramsey has been crap, Giroud hasn't yet.

Both are currently good enough to start for our team.

(not that we have a fecking choice :p )

    Just your opinion, of course.

Another MOTM for Ramsey on the stream I watched, and Giroud 3 games 3 goals so far.

Can we start making fun of Jack Wilshere instead? He seems to have absorbed Ramsey's crapness. maybe it gets passed from player to player? Denilson gave it to Ramsey, Ramsey gives it to Wilshere, Wilshere will give it to Zelalem.

I agree, he hasn't played well at all recently. I don't think he is 100% fit though. Not making excuses... I'm just surprised how much he has regressed.
