Every week this twat is on SSN and the Sky Sports website and I really cant remember him having a good word to say about us. This is weeks contribution - Southampton v Sunderland I like Southampton - for me they are this season's surprise package. I like the way they keep the ball and are patient, and I like Mauricio Pochettino's signings. Dejan Lovren, Victor Wanyama and Daniel Osvaldo are all big signings and are all game-changers. He has a good centre-forward, a great central midfielder - who was head and shoulders above everyone against West Brom - and the centre-half Lovren didn't give their strikers a kick. There was no messing from the manager and that makes me think he could have a good season - even if he doesn't shout from the rooftops. One man who usually does shout from the rooftops is Paolo Di Canio. But the fact that he hasn't really said a word all week, means you know that it is not looking good for Sunderland. If you get beaten by someone like Fulham at home deeper into the season, the fans would be worried. But the fact it was the opening game with a side full of new signings trying to gel together, I think that went under the radar. Di Canio will be happy about that. Mind you if they can't get a result here, or lose again, then you start to wonder if Sunderland are going to be under a bit of bother. No surprises I am going for Southampton. All day long. PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0 He has to be the most clueless pundit around and I cant belive he makes money from it. There seems to be a lot of undeserevd anti-Sunderland sentiment flying around but this clown is one of the worst. The world of punditry is a bit oif a joke really, 90% of these jokers need to have a word with themselves.
Not a single word on the players we brought in. Soton towin because their manager is quiet?! Maybe if he could speak Inglese....
plus that stuff about the defeat to fulham flying under the rader cos it was opening day is ****e. i think the majority of us saw a game that we controlled pretty much start to finish but just couldnt put it in the net
no talk of the vastly improved performance over last season, the twat probably didnt even watch the game
Merson is an absolute cock. Always has been, always will be. How he gets a job as a pundit is beyond me
i dont feel any pity i just with he would trip over and impale himself on his 2ltr bottle of frosty jack

We are consistently getting bashed from pundits, don't forget BT sports also, however, we did get beat, I asked last week if we were looking through rosé tinted glasses, until we get a great result and some momentum I really ain't sure. Can they all be wrong ??? Hopefully time says they will be, but think a great deal of people think we will be getting scutted against the saints. I would be happy with point but hoping for three obviously. Ktf
i just think not one pundit metioned how we looked **** loads better than last season. how we dominated all but 5 mins of the game, and also how we actually looked like we could string more than 2 passes together. fulham shouldnt have got 1 point never mind 3 from that game and it will be thier luckest result all season
Can't believe I'm saying this but I kind of agree with the scorline. Hope to fck I'm wrong but this is a bloody hard game. I'd snap anyone,s dick off (not mine of course) for a draw and I would probably snap mine off for a win. As for what he said about the Fulham game (back to normal now) what a fcking ****er.
I think it's the perfect match for us to bounce back, Soton are floating on air after the baggies win and we are smarting after a game we should have won. It will be interesting and for me memory always returns to 2006 when we beat them 2-1 on the promotion run in. Carlos and Grant at their very best..
He's put on the show as a complete buffoon . Not even funny anymore when he can't pronounce these foreign sounding players with tongue twisting names like Smith and Parker.
I'm going with a draw. I think our attackers will love the space playing against an attacking team. Could be 4-0 could be 0-4. I'm going 2-2. But I'm predicting an open entertaining game.
Head says 1-1 (which I'll take now) heart says 0-2 to the lads (which I would love now) either way it should be a decent game and so probably on last on MOTD again.
