Most likely exactly the same as last weekend, hopefully with gardner in for larrson as he's god awful in CM. So something like this: --------------Westwood--------------- Celutska---O'Shea---Roberge---Colback ----------Cabral-----Gardner----------- Johnson------Sessegnon------Giacherrini ----------------Altidore---------------- I wouldn't say "out and out attacking" but it's about 5 steps up from the ****e we played under O'Neill. Of course, we've only seen one game unde the new regime so it may have been a one-off but we absolutely dominated the game against Fulham from start to finish, just lacked that final ball unfortunately. Then they went and scored from a corner pretty much the only time the ball was in our half in 90 minutes... sod's law. Anyways, hoping for a good game as I like the way saints play their football . Good luck for the season (except for this weekend
--------------Westwood--------------- Celutska---O'Shea---Diakité---Colback ----------Cabral-----Larsson----------- Johnson------Sessegnon------Giacherrini ----------------Altidore---------------- That's the team I think we'll play. As dirty knees mentioned Larsson isn't very good in cm but PDC seems to prefer him to any of our other options. We'll definitely be more attacking than our last visit to St. Marys Looking forward to the game. I'd happily take a draw now, but anything can happen on the day!
What did Giacherrini and Altidore look like in your 1st game, I didn't catch any highlights? This is probably about the right time to reveal that I have two bets running with a Sunderland fan at work, £10 on this weekend and £20 on finishing higher in the Championship. We really had better win, I'm pretty skint!
OK, starting with Davis and Mayuka not ideal, but otherwise a very familiar and effective starting IX.
As we no longer wear stripes I suppose technically Sunderland could wear their traditional strip for this game. That would be a strange sensation - the away team in red and white stripes.
Not sure they can, I think red and white would be considered to clash with red and white, stripes or not.-
That starting line-up isn't bad at all really. But it's the options off the bench. Last season, there really weren't any.
Predicted Starting XI: Boruc, Clyne, Lovren, Fonte, Shaw, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Rodriguez, Ward-Prowse, Lambert. Subs: K Davis, Chambers, S Davis, Ramirez, Osvaldo, Cork, Yoshida. Chambers may keep his place because he has done so well since coming in.
Not sold out yet? But people on the forum are demanding at 45,000 seater stadium!!!!!!! I just don't understand.
It's quite obvious, despite the explanations of how these things works, you still don't. Is it deliberate..?
Cos we didn't put the ball in the net They looked very decent indeed, massive upgrades on Graham and McClean. Jozy in particular will be a handful for any defender.
No need for an extension until the demand for season tickets means that roving fans (like me) have no chance of getting a ticket. I got the tickets I wanted last season, so can't see the Don planning a bigger stadium in the short term. I think he said (tongue in cheek) when we are sold out for every match and in the Champions League.
Do we need more hashtags in the seats? How about a club official partnership with a Surrey Masonic lodge?
Although we outplayed WBA for a large part of the game, I think we should remember we only won by a late penalty. We didn't win 3.0.
