I think it's a good move for him, he'll thrive in that squad.

Big discussion on the Swansea board about this - it has to be said the majority are pretty sceptical but I've tried to persuade them otherwise. Haysey/Super - spot on - under Laudrup, I think we could be seeing the form he was producing in his loan spell at Blackpool.

There better be a sell on, or whoever agreed the transfer deserves shooting

Tewkes - Just had a quick look at the Swans board.

There are some Liverpool fans who are either on the wind up, or they are clueless.

I thought Jonjo would return to the hammers as a long term replacement for Kevin Nolan, but Swansea seems like a good fit.

    All the best to him

I thought he'd go to The Hammers as well Maidstone, and Palace were in for him but that was never going to be a runner.

    He'll do well, I'm sure.

As far as us getting any money is concerned, as I understand it the original deal was £1.7m up front, rising to £3m dependent upon appearances, of which £250k was for his first England cap. I'd be very surprised indeed if there were a sell-on clause, but I suppose there might be an adjustment payment for the fact that he's been sold before he had the chance to build up enough games to trigger the appearances money.

I'm not old enough to appreciate Michael Laudrup as a player, but from what i've heard, Jonjo will be taught by a true master.

Thinking of the Chris Solly/Chris Powell link up with this.

Some people on Twitter don't seem to understand sell-on clauses..... it's 10% of the PROFIT

So if we received £1.7m on sale and say additional payments of £750k for appearances/International Caps etc then the profit on a £5m sale will be @£250K...... not the £500k or £600k quoted on Twitter.

Against some pretty awful opposition to be fair.

But yes, he is playing well and seems to have settled in well at Swansea.

I prefer to think positively - we made him.

Have to say, they look as if they were separated at birth.

Bit like Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Sonic the Hedgehog...

I remember having crossed words with a couple of people I sat with at the time who didnt rate Jonjo and that he wasnt fit to be in the same team as the likes of Racon, Mooney & McLeod. What they failed to realise was that Jonjo was far too good for League One, and the reason things he was trying were not coming off was because messrs Mooney and McLeod were not on his level to be able to read what he was doing.

Very pleased Jonjo seems to have settled so well in Swansea, have watched him twice since he has been there and he has dictated the game on both occasions having been given a run of starts with players on his level.

From the day he made his debut for us, you could see that Shelvey would make a top class player. Great engine, great athlete, good passer and finisher, even at 16/17. I have probably seen hundreds of players make their debuts for us over the years, most of them turn out to be ok, indifferent, or a pile of cack. I would put Jonjo right at the very top in terms of home grown natural talent alongside Paul Elliot, Paul Walsh, Robert Lee, Scott Minto, Lee Bowyer & Scott Parker.
