He was a natural talent at that. Some may have killed more, but on sheer talent alone he was the best. That is why I rate him above Gerry McGuinness and Martin Adams.
At least Collins could make some sort of a claim to have achieved something with his murders. McGuinness and Adams spent 30 odd years achieving absolutely diddly squat You'll never beat the Irish ? Somone forgot to tell the IRA
See Paddy Power have went odds on for Martin McGuinness to become First Minister of Northern Ireland at the next assembly election, and are also odds on for Gerry Adams to enter coalition government in the next Dáil. United Ireland by the back door.
I'll tell you something else that's funny about these republicans who claim that the north is being oppressed by the british against its will. When Sinn Fein had a vote on independence in 1927, they didnt include northern Ireland in the vote even though their 'constitution' purported to govern northenr Ireland as well, yet they still only got 38% of the electorate voting for independence. They interpreted that as an unarguable mandate for independence. But when the British Government declared a referendum on independence in northern Ireland in the 1970s, the republicans called for a boycott of the referendum, shot a british soldier and threatened to blow up the polling stations on the day of the referendum. Do you know how many people voted to remain part of the UK ? 98%
They'll no doubt get themselves a movie deal at some point as well though, after Michael Collins got one staring alongside Julia Roberts.
The IRA have got 26 counties of Ireland free and have the Army Council a veto on what happens here. The IRA failure line is rubbish consideri.g the difference in populatiob for a start. Slowly slowly catchee monkee.
The IRA didnt even exist when the 26 counties broke away. The British have been trying to get rid of northern Ireland since at least the 70s, and they'd been trying to push through home rule in the whole of Ireland since the 1870s. The reason why northern Ireland is still part of the UK is nothing to do with Westminster, it's because just as the Irish didnt want independence until history was rewritten after the republic was formed, the northern irish don't want independence now. You say slowly slowly catchy monkey, but you gave up your precious independence within a few decades in the hope of becoming part of a federal Europe.
You're on the wind up chalky. The whole of Ireland was british. It had been british (or English) for 800 years. It had been british (or English) since before it was ever a united country. The british were the first settlers in Ireland, the british introduced Christianity to Ireland, the british brought civilisation to Ireland, Ireland was bequived in perpetuity to the king of England by 2 different fackin popes. Ireland is british. The 7 counties voted to remain part of the UK in 1922, and have always voted in favour of remaining a part of the UK. The rest of Ireland sadly didnt get a vote, apart from 1927 when 38% voted for independence.
ive been on the wind up since saying dev went to england ffs. that video if you would have watched it is a piss take also its 6 counties not 7
