No it's not. Given how hard JP worked to turn himself around and win the fans over that's a pretty mean spin on it. The truth is he wanted to move nearer home and the chance to play every week was just too tempting compared to a fringe player status. The result is that it could help JWP not the other way around. It's sad to see Jason go but I guess everyone wins. At least by most he will be remembered in the right way I'm sure. Back to the main point of the thread, I can't wait for Saturday. My heart says we'll stuff this lot but I look at their signings and do wonder how we will break them down. Top keeper - reputation for MOTM performances.
Osvaldo can't ask for an easier opponent at this level than John O'Shea. Pochettinho seems to have gotten the players heads right in pre season. We all know full well how that game at west brom would have gone last year. If saints are switched on it could well be a rout.
A week or two ago, someone asked Billy Sharp, what he was going to do for this season, and he said that he would fight for his place in the Saints squad. After what I heard of his morning's media conference he can kiss that hope goodbye.
It was the last question of the conference and having discussed the incoming players a media person asked about the outgoing players, Billy Sharp, Tadanari Lee and Dean Hammond. Poch replied that he had made it clear prior to pre-season that these players were not part of his future plans for the club. That the club were working on solutions for those players and that the players themselves were working on solutions. And that was that. I would call that, final..!
Hey fellas. Should be a good game this weekend. They'll be chances galore in this one so close to call. Whoever is more clinical on the day will take this
I think it will be end to end. We play good football now. Our whole philosophy has changed. It's a completely new brand of football. I'm in no doubt that our new style will produce very entertaining matches against attacking minded teams such as Southampton. I think it's going to be a cracking game.
Well, maybe at one end. We showed against WBA that we have tightened up at the back. I doubt you will get chances galore IMO.
------------Boruc Clyne--Yoshida--Lovren--Shaw --Cork-Schneiderlin-Wanyama ----------Gaston ----Lambert---Osvaldo How about this as a potential line up?
Well, every single CB in our squad is prone to self destructing, we don't exactly have a brick wall back there.
Didn't say we did, just we have improved which we undoubtedly have. Lovren is better than what we had last season and we started off last season with Fox and Hooiveld as first choice!
Our line up and subs from last season.... 01 K Davis 02 Clyne 03 Yoshida 06 Fonte 23 Shaw 04 Schneiderlin (S Davis - 59' ) 10 Ramirez 18 Cork 42 Puncheon (Guly - 80' ) 07 Lambert 24 Mayuka (De Ridder - 55' ) Jesus wept.
It's not that bad! All right they didn't play well, but that line-up is not so different to what we are likely to be on Saturday.
Well I count at least 5 players who won't be in the starting line up from those who started that game. Quite different I would say.
