That would be perfect Liverpool and Spuds best players gone, freeing up two top class players from Real to join us
Spuds would be in a much better position than Pool though, Spurs have gone about their business wisely, They'll still be there fighting for 4th, Pool on the other hand, losing Suarez, and with these average signings....Not so good, Everton to end above them again. Not only have Liverpool solidly lost their top 4 status, they're now going to lose their status as the top team in Liverpool.
Yep the spuds have done okay in this window, but I do wonder just how good Soldado, Paulinho will be during the season. They are good players, but not brilliant. Chadli is average for me, Capoue okay. It looks like they've missed out on Willian, who would have been a quality addition. Time will tell, but I think the spuds have spent a lot of money for what they've got.
He's more suited to our side than Benzema but we don't have the time to haggle with Swansea over this. Will be an interesting problem for Wenger to solve.

So with the current rumours it looks like we are set to try and sign: Benzema, Di Maria, Flamini, Cabaye, Vicente Guaita and possibly Richards. A Striker, a LWF, a DM, a CM, a GK and maybe a versatile defender. Literally all the positions people have been asking for us to improve and it looks like currently we are trying to get all those positions strengthened. Although all of these are not neccessarily world class it would add some real strength to the depth of our squad and in Di Maria and Benzema (both top players who would get into the first 11) get us the big name morale effect.
We could probably sign the lot of them for less than £100m as well, take away the £10m we have already made on transfers and we are looking at £85-90m. Quite a big outlay but lots of sources seem to think we are ready to spend a large amount of money.
AC Milan fans did seem upset about Flamini not being there next season when I checked a few weeks ago. Apparently the club didn't want to give him more than a 1 year extension to the contract because of his injury record, as he's done pretty well when he's played there recently.
I'd have Flamini back, he's not the marquee signing we're all after but he's a solid MF player who can play in DF too. He would add some steel to the squad as he's a dire hard type of player, good on the ball too.
Arsene is falling back in love with himself pretty ****ing fast. I've never seen him talk so much of his pride in team development since around 2006/2007... If there was any time to give those speeches a rest it was this transfer window.
