still, I don't see how a conclusion could be reached that today demonstrated that we were crying out for a play maker. we ran them raged, could have scored 8, and had chance after chance. we terrorised them down the right, ran the shyte out of them down the middle, and had their keeper looking like he'd just gone 5 rounds with Tyson.

    Definitely

    Rabies

Rabies is characterised by episodes of increasingly odd and hyperactive behaviour, separated by periods of relative calm. During these episodes a person may have some or all of the following signs and symptoms:

•aggressive behaviour, such as thrashing out or biting (or sacking a manager)
•agitation (when Spurs sign a player)
•hallucinations – seeing or hearing things that are not real (such as stylish football at the Bridge)
•delusions – believing things that are obviously untrue (like the chavs have a history)
•excessive production of saliva (when he can't buy a referee)
•high temperature (fever) (when the transfer window opens)
•excessive sweating (when the chavs are defeated)
•the hair on their skin stands up (when Spurs score)
•irrational behaviour (signing copious amounts of midfielders)

People with furious rabies will also develop Spursophobia (a fear of a realising he invested in the wrong London football team). This initially begins as a pain in the throat or difficulty swallowing defeat. On attempting to swallow the defeat, the muscles in the managers throat go into a brief spasm that lasts for a few seconds as the sufferer attempts to strangle them. Subsequently the sight, sound or even the mention of Tottenham (or N17) can trigger further attacks or spasms. There will also be fear of bright light (a star [of David]) and fear of breezes (the wind of change).

A few days after these symptoms develop, the affected person will fall into a coma and die hopefully, usually as a result of league or cup failure.

You yourself commented on Siggy constantly losing it did you not? I know dembele was officially behind Soldado but sig was there more.
I don't see how winning should prevent me drawing conclusions

    Rob, they were ****.

it was a completely different class of players playing against one another.

Time and time again we've seen us struggle to break teams down. Tougher, more solid prem teams like stoke will prevent us from having so much space like we had tonight. We can't rely on wingers having that much room to run into. it just won't happen, apart from when we get counter attacks. - But we can't rely on that.
We need someone centrally who knows how to find passes from central areas, into holes that are created by our other players pulling the opposition out of place. Whilst Capoue, Dembele and Paulinho are good centrally, they aren't like Modric. - we still miss someof his attributes. Yes we've strengthened everywhere else, but there's still something missing which adds a dangerous option centrally, IMO.

If the large number of Willian 'thumbs up' photos were about him getting the attention he sought after from the press and ultimately a CL club, and thus is using us as a means to get what he wants, we don't need a player like that. We already have Adebayor who is proving harder to shift than one of my Dads floaters!

Yeah, but Roo no matter how sh** they were (I actually thought they had a couple of decent players), I don't see how you could look at the game today and say, "yup, we need a playmaker alright".

Why? Please explain why winning means we can't see deficiencies in the team

Even the dire commentators said the same thing when asked about negatives for the performance

Will be disappointed if we miss out on Willian.

However, if he joins the Chav after a medical at Spurs he is a player that doesn't deserve to wear the white jersey. Time will tell.

No ta. I'll just restate my view that today's game did not show that we need a play maker. Maybe we do, but imo it wasn't evident from today's game. If there was a negative from our attacking play today it was that siggurdson is not the man to play on the left of a forward 3. You can bet your bottom dollar though that no one in that stadium left saying "I tell you what, spurs don't half need a playmaker".

Best just move on. Many more fish in the sea. You thought he might have learnt though, he join Anhzi for the money and look where it got him.

It's good in a way, we can't just go and buy anyone we want for any money the seller demands, we are still a proper club, not a rich ****ers toy.

Anyway, I don't want to fall out about it Roo. I note your view. I've got a different view, but it's of no consequence. I can understand an argument that we didn't get many balls threaded through to be fair, which is what people say soldado thrives on, but I would be very confident that he has no complaints whatsoever about the last 2 games, and I would bet he's delighted with the performances and the services he's been getting. He's been thoroughly involved throughout both games. I'm a big fan of carroll, and if we can have him or someone else threading through clever balls then that'll be great, but we were not lacking in creativity today, either in the middle of the park - where we had guys beating players time and again - or from the flanks where a vast number of chances were created.

    <cheers>

A few of a limited number of people on this forum did so I'm fairly confident in taking your dolla on that bet.
If you can't explain your point then that backs mine further and I have no need to carry on. Ta

Then why are you on a forum for people to discuss their opinions?

All they asked was you backup why you think we don't need a creative player.

I actually don't agree either way, Im happy with what we have but can also see we lack creativity at times.
