I do sometimes wonder, when people say he hasn't reached his potential, what people think Theo's potential actually is, because 21 goals and 18 assists last season is pretty phenomenal by anyone's standards.

Showing it on a consistent basis would be fulfilling his potential. He had a very good season on the whole, but it certainly faded towards the end.

That plus he does seem pretty injury prone. He's missed a hrll of a lot of games.

Just checked my ticket, I am in - Kingsland Block 38 Row LL! Last time I was in a Block near there I stood for 90 minutes along with everyone else!

There are a lot of players who are better than their statistics make out, but there aren't many who aren't as good as their statistics suggest, like Walcott. He's a really good player but lacks intelligence and a decent cross, as well as a decent finish.

We should win, but take nothing for granted. A couple of early goals would be nice to settle the nerves. Luckily I am at work on Saturday, so will be more chilled than usual.

Lacks a decent finish?? Chance conversion rate last season was 23%, compared with Lambert's 19%.

His finish is probably the best part of his game. His set pieces are also very good based on last season. Good pace and whip on them. His cross in open play and decision making needs some work though.

Are you sure that's not just a shot conversion rate percentage? If so it's unfair on Lambert who is shooting from range a lot more.

Interesting that Punch could move on so JWP could progress, Punch lost out to Ox before and threw his toys which was why he loaned out before, maybe history repeating itself

Yes, not shots, chance conversion rate. It's buried in here somewhere: http://www.eplindex.com/34533/evolution-theo-walcott-stat-analysis.html

Lambert also has a stronger shot, and I don't think his finishing is brilliant (from open play) but he should shoot more than he does and is too unselfish at times. I'd rather face a Walcott shot than a Lambert one.

Good gallery on OS of training. Usual fun being had by all. Especially like number seven with Lambert standing like a god flanked by Mayuka (the character who will probably die in the last reel) and Dani (the funny side-kick with a liking for the ladies).

I believe chance conversation rate is all types shots which aren't clear-cut chances. I think it might be the case as they mention that it's not necessarily about quantity but the quality of chances you are creating as a creative player. Either way a clear-cut chance is what you need to use for finishing if you see what they are defining it as. Lambert converted 56% of clear cut chances and Walcott 50%. Both higher than Van Persie(43%) and Michu (46%) so it supports the argument that Walcott is a very good finisher. All I was getting at was it was an unfair comparison with Lambert to use only chance conversion. Bale's chance conversion was down at 16% which must be because he takes shots from range so much but his clear-cut chance conversion was 58%.

Lawro predicts us to win 2-0. Not sure whether that's a good thing however!

Remaining realistic and predicting a draw. I didn't think we'd win against WBA and we did, so hopefully I get proven wrong again...
